Warrior Spirit

The project was called "The Trojan Warrior Project".

As an insignia it took the logo of a flying horse above two light sabers. Beneath was the inscription "Vi Cit Tecum", or "May the Force be with You".

25 operators participated in the project.

Dr. Richard Strozzi Heckler was one of the primary instructors. Richard is an extremely gifted / talented man, former combat Marine long time aikidoist and psychologist.

In 1990, he published a book about the project titled "In Search of the Warrior Spirit - Teaching Awareness Disciplines to the Green Berets".

The book is still available and is most interesting on a number of different levels.

Commander of the Ranger Training Brigade at the time, Keith M. Nightingale, commented of the book "This book should be necessary reading material for all Rangers and Special Forces units."

Heckler continues to train and teach in northern California.

Kasik how long did you serve on an actual A-Team?

You do realize that this thread is in the comedy zone? We've already chased off all those lunatics and dispelled the myth of these idiots. This was not done by Green Berets it was commo support and intel support soldiers. And the only reason it was classified was because of how stupid it actually was in the first place. Do us a favor and leave it where it lies, in the stupid zone.

My sincere apologies

Team Sergeant -

Please accept my sincere apologies -

No, I did not "see" this as being in the Comedy Zone and so my response was what it was -

I might add that even if it is in the "comedy zone" all I provided was a response with accurate information about the program - which as you point out in your kind reply did indeed take place -

And as Richard Heckler is a friend of mine and fellow martial artist, notably so in the Art of Aikido, his book is very good and goes beyond simply the project.

Finally, I don't know if it's necessary to offer a thought in the manner you did.

I was on an A-Team long enough to serve in two wartime campaigns with plenty of MTTs inbetween.

Respect given is respect given back.
