That is our policy.” You ask; What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.-Winston Churchill

SGM Kevin Nirschl

I was in the 11th with Kevin Nirschl a long time ago. If this is the same guy, and I’m pretty sure it is (how many guys you know named Nirschl?), he went active serving with the 19th Group in a full-time team slot. He was in the 82nd his first time around and joined B211 in Youngstown. He got SF qualified and made E-5 while with our mob in Youngstown and went active at a time when things were slow in the economy in the 80’s. I remember that he had a Skull and Crossbones tattoo with crossed pistons in place of the bones. He was a biker to the very end and I wish he was wearing a helmet because things may have turned out differently for him. Kevin was a good guy, a reliable team member, and proud to be Airborne and SF.

A helluva way to die but everyone gotta go sometimes.

RIP Kevin..

Damn

Just went through a course with Kevin before heading out here to Afghanistan...Kevin was definitely a SME in his field and we all learned a lot from him. Lots of great stories and a no bullshit attitude. RIP friend...we'll ride together again

A friend and fellow QP sent me this link to Kevin's Guest Book. I'm sure his family would appreciate any thoughts.
