I will be passing it along to my 15yo grand daughter, who has had her NC learner's permit approx. one month.
I've been her primary supervising driver, and forbid phone talk or text while moving... If she feels a need to yap or mash buttons, we pull off the motorway. I constantly try to reinforce that driving is SERIOUS BUSINESS, and that she is responsible for doing her part to make it safer. (I am used to the

"look" by now...)
Funny stuff: Day Two of her driving, Grandpa has her headed to F'ville,,, 211 S to Raeford, 401N to Skibo, to Yadkin (for some UDT shorts, now that I can wear them again

)
on a Monday @ lunchtime. She did well enough, no paint traded with anyone

& only got a little freaked out once.
I've got approx 11 months left to ride herd, (unless she gets a citation - which resets the clock) then she's on her own. PSA for the Moore Co. folks: watch out for a midget-chick in a white Corolla, with the ashen-faced middle-aged bald guy in the P-seat grabbing for the Jesus bar.
