Well said Sir, IMHO. Cannot fathom what the United States would be like under this low-life's Prresidential rein.

"I normally write checks for presidential candidates, the RNC, etc., but I have not done so to this point and may not at all."

Sounds like you need to be motivated for a new mission...send a healthy donation to support the first Green Beret intending to be elected to Congress - this November from N.H; donate
at www.joinjim2008.com, and then motivate QPs and supporters across the country to do the same...or snail mail donate to Steiner for Congress, P.O. Box 2008, Concord, NH 03302.

Heard you were in NH recently, hope you enjoyed it. The snow is finally melting but a few more ski runs are still in order.

In recent SF history, in N.H., we celebrate quietly being the home state for the SF NCO selected after 9/11/01 to wear the SF ring into Afghanistan. His two brothers are still in SF. With plenty of SF history, including all of the old 10th SFGA training sites and local assets, NH is a great state to provide the first Green Beret in Congress.

Thanks in advance,

Jim Steiner

Pete
Pete,

I read his book, Marcus Luttrell's book - "Lone Survivor" (The SEAL recon mission gone astray) and Dick Couch's recent book "Chosen Soldier," (a walk through SFQC) all while camping in Maine last summer. All great reads.

Frank reminds me of a lot of great NCOs with whom I worked. No BS, just the straight skinny.

Frank is seeking a state legislative seat. I am running for Congress in N.H. to head to D.C. On the veterans front it is my full intent to be adament in protecting veterans rights, veterans health care, SF budget and support for our military forces, whereever they may be deployed. On other fronts, I am a Republican who does not believe government should be overseeing everything in our lives.

Thanks.

Thanks for responding.

And thanks for your pledge of financial support and for getting the word out to others that may share the same feelings.

But you and Frank will suffer with the same problem.

The Republican base of social, military and fiscal conservatives.

Sure, it's like herding cats but Mac has kicked down the fences and let the dogs, moderates, in to help him with the herding.

This election is going to be based on turnout. The left's turnout will be huge. Our's? Don't bet the farm on it.

I remember the "talk" about we needed all three, the House, Senate and White House to really get things done. And what did we get? Business as usual. "Pork for sale, come get your's while we're here."

What was it Hagel said on TV this weekend, I think it was him? Basicly saying we need to get with the times and go moderate - get with the rest of the world? Sorry, thanks but no thanks.

When the choice is Democrat or Democrat-Lite don't expect true conservatives to go much out of the way to get to the voting booth.

"Fear the other side more than me" is getting a little old.

Me? I'll trudge down there holding my nose, as will my family but I don't see any fire in the belly of conservatives this year.

Pete,

Your general national assessment is excellent in warning Frank and me about politics in 2008.

However, the numbers locally in NH are helpful; I have no clue what Frank faces in AZ: In NH, the same current rookie opponent won in 06 but lost in 04 to the prior member of Congress. In 04, 325,000 people voted. Republican won. In 06, no Presidential election, 125,000 less voters went to the polls. 100,000 of them had voted for the Republican in 2004. If just 15,000 of that 100,000 had shown up, I would not be seeking this seat. They did not vote against him, they merely did not show up because the midterm election was seen as a sleeper and no Republican grassroots analyzers anticipated, in NH, the threat to the Congressional seats. Bad intel analysis, to say the least. Have you ever experienced THAT before.

In 2008, another Presidential election, every swinging voter will be headed to the polls up here (and the snow will be melted, at least the current snow). There is no reason to suggest that 100,000 will not vote as they did before. They just voted in the NH Presidential primary in January, so we know they are here and have once again found their way to the polls.

With financial help to get the word out to NH voters this summer and right after Labor Day, I will win the seat...I am one, and only one, but I learned in SF that we can have a much greater impact than our numbers suggest. I will carry a big stick, but will keep it folded so no one sees it until it is too late.

I will be at Bragg in mid-April. Hopefully planning a link up at the GB Club with some old friends (10th SFGA). With hope, Friday night April 11; just need to confirm my arrival at RDU, rental car and gate pass. Stay in touch and perhaps we can meet there. I already owe the first round to those showing up who have made financial donations to my campaign already.

Just read the man's bio from the link provided. Wow, what a great man. I admire this man. When we choose leaders we should choose people that we would hope to be like - Their lives challenge us to be better. They should exhibit qualities of character, integrity, and courage.

I wish him well.

Has intel analysis gotten bettter for the Republican Big Wigs?

That is the question.

I say NO, it has not. Turn out was key in 2006 and the Republican Leadership did nothing to pump up the base all throughout early 06 and into the summer. Kicked a lot of sand and thumbed their noses at conservatives but that didn't work too well getting the "Oh, yeah" factor going.

I hope you win your seat but right now I think turn out is the key and the opposition is pumped - "we" are not.

Case in point "HOW IS THE FENCE COMING, YOU PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON?"

"What fence?" they answer .
