I was an Instructor at Benning and spent a fair amount of time out at Victory Pond. I always felt sorry for the winter Ranger students at the slide for life. Going for a swim in the dead of winter ….got to want it bad!(for those who didnt know, it does actually get cold in the south)

Ain't that the friggin' truth! My only saving grace was while standing in line for the slide for life after the log walk/rope drop, some poor mook got about 1/4 of the way down the line before the carriage got stuck and he got tossed off. The RIs couldn't get the carriage unstuck in due time, so we avoided another dunk. This was December.

Yon't Two - Something my Grandfather always spit out when I visited him in West Virginia. He used to confuse the hell out of me when I was a kid with the way he talked. I remember having arguments with my Half Sister about who talke'd normal, the North or the South.
