You can sew a compass pouch to the outside of another pouch on your kit and fit an abdominal dressing in that thing and it works much better when you have a real injury. The basic field dressing stops absorbing rather quickly if there is a real bleeder. Your guys are better off with the small abdominal dressings.

The old dressings are rare in theater (at least in our portion of it) and have been replaced almost exclusively by Israeli dressings...
