OKI time

Okay. Let me walk into the kill zone - Was in 46th SF CO, Thailand in '71 when we became 4th BN, 1st SFGA (classified, then) and renamed USASF - Thailand. Then Oki in 1/1 '88-'93.

But, if we count time on Oki, I was a dependent chile' there '55 - '58.

When I got to Oki in '88, I met ole SGM, aw sxxt!, what's his name at the American Legion on Oki. He arrived on island (torii beach, I think) EARLY on 1 April '45 as a US Navy Frogman (that was the invasion for those who may not know their history), joined the AF, then the Army and SF in the 1st where he retired and stayed on island. I think he's got us all beat.

longrange1947, do you know who I'm talking about? He must have still been in Group when you were there.

Oops! Gettin' old. The conversion time was April '72 to Companies and BN's and concurrently for the 46th CO assignment to 1st Grp.

MFFI115 - Know who you are talking about but old timers is killing me on names now days.

I remember when you guys at 46th would get mad at us intruders from Okie getting TDY for being in the same place you guys were.

Looks like I'll have to miss the GTG this year, sure it will be some good times. Of course my keeping up these days, is reading the chapter XVI monthly news letter. BTW, Bart has done a tremendous job with the chapter site.
Cheers,

Billy,

No. Dick Perkins retired in FAY and the last time I saw him was about ten years ago still teaching karate-do. The SGM I'm thinking of last name started with Mc something, I think.
