Currently reading Get Selected and just finished Chosen Soldier by Dick Couch. Just trying to plan the best I can for the task ahead. It's a long road to my end state, but it has been traveled sucessfully by many men before.

Just began reading a book titled " Last Breath". It is a bunch of fictional narratives explaining the physiological responses the body goes through during deaths due to drowning, hypothermia, the bends, etc. Pretty cool so far.

The Drunkard's Walk...How Randomness Rules Our Lives by Leaonard Mlodinow

A Wonderful book of chance, probability and of course, randomness, in our daily lives, and how misunderstood to actual cause and effect, when in actuality is more influenced by chance decision making processes.

Just finished "Slow Walk in a Sad Rain" by John P. McAfee.

Wide range of emotions while reading this.

Began "Night Drop" by S. Marshall

Interesting read concerning 82nd and 101st operations on D-Day. There are portions of very great detail and I find myself referring back to the maps in order to track locations and movements. This is representative of the actual operation so no surprise there. The writing seems a bit disjointed but overall a good read.

Not too long ago I finished Ghost Plane: The True Story of the CIA Rendition and Torture Program by Stephen Grey. Makes you wonder how the CIA keeps anything secret.

I reread Green Eyes and Black Rifles by Kyle Lamb this week. I can't say too many good things about the book. If you carry a rifle, you should read it.

It reminded me how much knowledge one can get from a book, so I searched Amazon yesterday for other possible gems.

I ordered the following:

Paul Howe's The Tactical Trainer: A Few Thoughts On Training And Training Management From A Former Special Operations Soldier.

Kelly McCann's Combatives for Street Survival: Hard-Core Countermeasures for High-Risk Situations. I understand it's the author's take Fairbairn's WWII combatives.

Gavin De Becker's Gift of Fear. I believe it deals with mindset and awareness. It's been out a long time and several people recommended it, so I'll read it.

The first two are recently published. I'll give a short review when I read them.

What are you reading now...?

Currently, The Afghan Campaign by Steven Pressfield. Only on Chapter 3, very good thus far.

Just Finished
Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. Excellent read. Certainly among my all time favorites.
Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein. I have never watched the movie but began reading it with an open mind. Not at all what I expected. Very good book.

All three books were recommended to me by someone willing to share his time, knowledge and experience with me.
