Introduction

Hi everyone, thanks for the opportunity to use this site. I have had the opportunity to work with and interact with quite a few Special Forces soldiers in my eight years in the Army. My first duty station was Ft. Lewis Washington and it seemed to me that every SF soldier that I came into contact with was welcoming and took the time to anwser any questions I had. After my first 4 year enlistment I decided to get out of the Army and go to college. While in school I decided to continue my service in the national guard. While in the guard I was deployed to Iraq where my infantry unit shared a small building with an ODA team. They were the most professional soldiers I had ever dealt with and were always willing to share helpful information. From there I decided I would start researching and training to attend SFAS. Once again thanks for the information that you have provided here and all of the help and guidance I have received throughout my years in service.

Anthropologist and prior service 96B/Turkish Linguist. Collecting info on re-enlisting or going O in an MID; either NG or AD. Trying to get a feel for the current intel situation [and needs], and work out some personal COAs.

In the long run, I would also be interested in possibilities leading up to 18F.

Thanks in advance for the G2. And the patience.

Greetings,

I've been lurking around this site for around 2 years, if memory serves me correctly. I serve in a LRS unit in Nebraska. I want to thank you for allowing me to join your site and learn from the wealth of knowledge that it contains. I have long been interested in pursuing a life within the Special Forces and have found the forums located within this site to be incredibly helpful.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to that "Search Button."

Regards,

Bill

Hello Gentlemen,

I am a 25 year old former Marine Infantry Sergeant. I served four years active duty with Charlie Co. 1st Light Armored Recon Bn. During this time I did two combat deployments to Iraq. First in 03 for the invasion with RCT 5 1stMARDIV and then again in 04/05 for operations in Najaf, Karbala and Al Anbar as a part of the 11th MEU(SOC) where I got the pleasure of sticking it to Sadr and his bums and then some equally worthless insurgent knuckleheads.

Currently I am Junior at the University of Texas at Austin where I am majoring in Middle Eastern Studies, History, and Government. I recently, enrolled in the AROTC program and am currently a c/SGT. I am also the President of the Student Veterans Association at UT. I just recently spent five months living and studying in Cairo, Egypt.

I am here to take advantage of the amazing wealth of professional and personal knowledge available from you gentlemen as I try to achieve my goal of becoming an 18A and joining your prestigious brotherhood. Thank you and I look forward to increasing my SA.

SGT "Atilla"

Hello all. Prior service navy diver here. Looking to enlist in the army very soon after 4 years on the outside. Was hoping for 18x but thanks to this site and otheres, I have learned that won't happen. Guess I'll take whatever is offered at MEPS and go the long way around.

Greetings Gentlemen,

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your site. I have found this to be a very informative site.

I am an 11B in the OHARNG. I have been enlisted for 12 years. For the past 7 years I have been on a fairly regular deployment cycle. During my tour in Iraq, I had the privilege of working with a few SF members from various units. This interaction helped me take a closer look at what I wanted to accomplish in the army and the type of people that I want to work with. I am currently training for my chance to tryout for the SF Company in my state.

Thank you for all of the very useful information you have provided me in my preparation.

Thank you,

Beck5

Hello,

My name is Bennett, and I'm about to graduate from college in a year. I plan on obtaining an 18X contract or possibly going to OCS, then down the road apply for selection.

Thank you for your service and allowing me in your house!

Hi,

My name is Marshall. At the time of this post, I am 21. I have graduated college with two associate's in networking/security and am hoping to enlist sometime in the not-too-distant future with the 18x option.

I have also played the violin/fiddle the majority of my life, so I can not resist using this emoticon:

This forum has been a valuable source of information to me. Thanks to those who contribute meaningful information to it.

Introducing myself....

I would like to start with saying thank you for giving me the opportunity to share in this website with you. In a very small way i feel i have been accepted into a part of the world that most don't really know exsists, or don't want to admit too. I am a NCO with 1-22IN 4ID, in Iraq at the present. I am heading home soon. I have been deployed twice with this unit since (2005 - present). I also was with 187IN 101st Airborne DIV from (2001 - 04). I am married with no children. My future at this time is still unpaved for me, i have talked with 19th group and i am on file with them. My plan is to link up with my contacts there, take the assesments and finally attend SFAS. I want to stay focused on the 25m target here. I have read over all the prescribe materials and will comply with all rules and regulations set forth on this site. I use the search engine frequently and get good results. So let me end with this i am honored to be accepted into this small part of the (QP's) world......."What i know is that i am determained to give my all, every ounce of my being to complete the set forth training and requirments to join the ranks of such greatness.".......
