First post, first attempt to get in line with protocol here... you guys sure do have a lot of rules, but the site is great- so I guess there is good reason to protect it.

I just left AD, intel guy, and am considering pursuing SF in the guard. I was a select at SFAS in Jan 08, so Ill be interested to catch some of the threads on 19th/20th SFG. Of course, I have some questions- but Ill save that for another forum.

Thanks much for all the info, Im sure Ill be reading from the corners for a bit.

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.

Hello all,

I just left group seven months ago. Within that time, after going back to school thanks to the G.I. Bill, I've come to very much miss the mission and camaraderie that I quickly became accustomed to. I plan on returning to group after this short hiatus to finish up my M.A. and spend some time with my wife and child (who is raring to beat feet out of there). Thanks for your time.

Late Intro

I've been around here for a bit, but mostly read. Just a quick intro for me. I'm currently with 20th Group in a support capacity in the NG out of Birmingham. I probably won't be posting very often (my first post is 5 years after I joined the site), but an intro is an intro and still required...

Introduction

Greetings to all.

I'm currently serving in the Army as an EOD team leader. I found this site after searching and looking for information. One of my team members will be attending SFAS soon and I wanted to know a bit more about it.

Great site. I'll be observing for a while to come.

First off....Thank you for this site!!!!

I am 29, and have just joined the Army Reserve as a 21C. I am thinking that I may have made a mistake by joining the USAR versus AD. I have a degree, and I have a strong desire to make a difference in the World, but feel that I should be working and serving as a warrior that knows how to use his heart, mind, and intellect.

Right now, I am concentrating on leaving for OSUT and moving past this stage in my military career. After this, I will either be looking at comissioning options or options to move to SF. At 29, I know I must start making decisions so that my age does not prevent me for achieving something so incredible through hardwork and determination.

I am here to research my options and determine what I can do to be a stronger soldier and hopefully a solid candidate at SFAS.

I will not ask a question unless I have exhausted my options(outside of calling someone at SOF Command). I will read and head everything that I can to help become more informed. I will respect those who have been there and done that, and will avoid disrespecting them. I want to be a good soldier and I hope to earn my keep.

Also...I am looking for a SF mentor, if anyone would be willing to give me the time of day.

Out!

Greetings

Howdy all -
Served with 3rd BN MID, 12th SFG, SOT-A and SOT-B. Looking to re-connect with some old friends, and possibly make some new ones.
Looking forward to it - this is a great site.

Intro.

Hey guys I am a former MARINE who served four years and completed tours in both OIF and OEF in an infantry platoon. I have been out four years and I am interested in joining the NG and possibly getting into a SF unit to see if the lifestyle is for me. I live in FL and would most likely go with 3/20A out of Ocala. I am here to find out some info on NGSF and 20th group in a whole. Any general info you guys could provide a prior service veteran looking to join the NG would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ALL, I am about to deploy for my first time with group. I have a few financial questions. My situation is this: I am single and army pay is pretty good for a young single soldier. At home, however, my family is struggling. I am planning on purchasing a home for my mother with my first deployment's money. My question is this:
How much money will I make while deployed for nine months as an E5? This is probably a stupid question, and you may think I am being greedy, but in truth I am trying to make the best financial arrangements for my family.

Introductions - to introduce one-self to the crowd

USMCMAN01 and NEWGUY23

This is not a Q&A area..

You both need to read more and talk less,, and fill in you profile as requested.
