Hello, and personal introduction
Hello,
I am new to this site, and as per the ROE’s my first order of business is a greeting and introduction.
I would first like to thank all of you for allowing my into your home as a guest, and for taking the time out your busy lives to help educate us dreamers, hopefuls and wannabe learn more about your world.
I am a former Marine rifleman who spent a little time as a Scout sniper. I am almost finished with school and I miss being in the military. I started looking into the National Guard hoping to create the balance I am looking for life. When I went through sniper school in 99 there were two Sergeant first classes from a SF group in California. Before then I had know idea that the guard had SF units, and since then I have been interested.
My life is on course and I have begun to gather information about what it takes to get to SFAS and have a chance to at passing. I am a firm believer in the 7 P’s (proper, prior, planning, prevents, piss, poor, performance), and you site has been an extremely effective tool for my planning.
I have no misconceptions about how hard and long the SF pipeline is, but without challenges to overcome life would be meaningless. I am in Colorado now and have been getting my legs, lungs, and feet, back into fighting shape. With a little intestinal fortitude, suffering, and sacrifice I hope to slightly increase my chances of success.
Once again thank you for allowing my in your home as a guest, and thanks for all of the helpful information.
Sincerely,
A SF wannabe and hopeful in training

NDD,
I don't know if you noticed, Copperhead also said he was a SF baby but then in the Unit's served section he put he was in the 502. Maybe it isn't my place to call out a somebody who might have gone through selection and the Q already but I thought I'd point that out.

Right after they moved it near the ocean, so Copperhead could surf.

I swear, you Sluggos are going to have to be given a class on springing ambushes early. Now put your damn head down and watch your sector...

Hello
Hello,
I found a link to this site via the Rangers at AR.com. I am trying to get either an 18x or an option 40 contract. Came here to see what you guys were all about. I have a state of Maryland GED so I am going to college in order to get the 15 credits needed to make my "Good Enough Diploma" acceptable by Uncle Sam's standards. Its funny how scoring a 97 on the ASVAB still means your a dumb ass if you didnt finish HS. I guess the Army figures that if you dont finish school your not a motivated individual... Understandable. Should give me some more time to PT my ass off. Anyway, this seems like a great board and have already gotten a ton of info from it. Hope to be among your ranks sometime soon.....

Hello Gentlemen, I came here via Optactical. I am currently with the British Territorial Army, I have been in fir just over a year. Joined due to withdrawel symptoms - I served 10 years in the Royal Engineers '87-97. I have been operational in Northern Ireland and Kuwait (shield & storm).
I joined the board to speed up the re-learning curve, looking for advice from professionals.
Never been HSLD but always been a profesional soldier
Good chance of an 'away match' next year
