First Group guy here. Commo guy who would love to learn some field craft from the older generation of guys around. Currently downrange, but hoping to pick up my HAM license and delve into experimenting with HF, as it seems to be a dying art with the advent of SATCOM and everyone and their uncle wanting up to the second information available from higher. Also former MIG for five years, so I wear the dual junior hat for echo and fox. Fun stuff. Thanks for your time, and to everyone else sitting on a FOB right now, stay safe.

Introduction
I made my first post in the wong place. Thank you for the on-the-spot correction.
Thank you for allowing me into your house. I am John. I have updated my profile to hopefully prevent getting a boot. I have been coming here for about a year and a half. This site provides a wealth of information. For those that have carried/still carry the burning torch, thank you for paving (used loosely) the way for us.
My Purpose: To quietly glean from those who know.
Once again, thank you for allowing me into your house.

Hi, my name is Zac. I'm currently a factory worker in Oklahoma. I plan on joining the Army sometime in the next year, and came across this site from Lightfighter.

Hello my name is Joe, I live in Ohio and I plan on talking to a recruiter some time in the next couple of weeks to try to get an 18x contract.
Politically and religiously I think I fit in like a walrus in a watermelon patch on this board, as from what I've read I have seen neither Libertarians nor agnostics. I think this is a great site, a lot of useful information, and I hope I get the chance to serve with some of you QPs.

No one in SF will give a rats ass about your political or religious affiliation, not unless you decide to open your trap and tell everyone like you did here.
You also do not know us and have not read enough to form that opinion.
I've little doubt there is more than one atheist, agnostic, wiccan, pagan etc etc etc in SF and on this board, but , unlike you, they don't go around advertising the fact.
I suggest you read more and post very little.

Joe:
There are 62 threads here mentioning Libertarians.
I used to vote Libertarian every time it was a Lib candidate running against just one of the other two parties. If it was a three way race, I always went with the Repub, because the Lib was going to lose. Same at the national level. A vote for a Libertarian Presidential candidate is a wasted vote, and will probably help get the Socialist, I mean Democrat, elected.
Many people in SF border on being Libertarians. In fact, if I did not like good roads, quality public education, and a strong military, I might be a Libertarian.
Starting out by bringing up politics AND religion is not a good SF type approach.
Food for thought.

Hey everyone, thank you to the QP's who provide their thoughts, opinions, and experiences here. I am leaving September 24th to start my 18X contract. I'm looking forward to it. My motivation rests both in serving my country and gaining training to later do full-time mission work throughout the world. Again thank you to all you who keep this site going... Tanto
P.S.- Happy Birthday to me....

Hello to all.
I've been lurking as a guest on and off for a while, but recently decided to register.
I've been active duty Air Force since '89 and graduated from USUHS in 2000. Currently I sit on my CONUS backside most of the day. (Please, no chairborne jokes.)
I have a tremendous respect for the "QP's" with whom I have had the chance to work and train with in the past. I hope to have the chance to do so again. Thank you all for allowing me to join in the conversation here; I look forward to learning from you. I'll try to have something to offer in return.

Well, I have been cruising around on here for roughly a year now, and decided it was about time I made an introduction. First off just let me say that to the Quite Professionals that run this site, I am truly appreciative that you do so.
My Introduction:
My name is Jake, I am currently 19, will be 20 in October. I have been interested in the Special Forces lifestyle since I was a child, but only in the last two to three years have I begun to truly delve into researching it, creating a stronger desire in me to pursue it, stronger than anyting else I have ever felt in my short life so far. As strong as that desire is however, I am pursuing this against the wishes of all my family, but still with their full support at every level. I have many reasons for wanting to do this, but I will only elaborate if someone asks in order to keep this short. I look forward to gaining more knowledge about the Special Forces world and am incredibly grateful that the wonders of technology allow something like this site to exist, as well as many other resources and tools, to aid individuals such as myself on this road.
I know I said I was trying to keep it short, but I wanted to get a good, thorough, but quick introduction in here.
Again, thank you.
- Jacob S.

First off thank you TS and TR for pointing out my mistake, since I managed to inadvertently make an unnecessary and unfounded comment about the members of this board, for that I apologize.
Second, about posting my political and religious belief they are things I find to be important about me, but perhaps this was not the best place to post them.
TR I do agree with you that in a three way race a vote for a Lib is a vote wasted.
And once again I apologize for the mistake I made in my first post, I should have read more before posting.

Former 19D3 and 18X (1991) here. I made the grave error of arriving at SWC injured, and that didn't work out so well.
I found this site while doing some research, and am very impressed with the wealth of knowledge on board. I'll endeavor to not be a pest, or draw (too much) fire.
To those on active duty or retired, thank you for your service to our Nation. For those considering serving, be clear that you can serve with no finer soldiers than you will find here.
