hello all

Hi All, allow me to introduce myself.

I am an average American citizen. I work in the high tech industry, and thus have no military experience.

However, I have been a very frequent flier for the last decade, on United. The routes that the hijacked planes took on 9/11 were the routes I often took.

I was flying on 9/11 and was stranded away from home, and experienced that terrible day like many horrified Americans. Fortunately I did not have to fly coast-to-coast that day, and was thus a witness to one of the most terrible days in American history.

Ever since 2001, I have flown every 9/11 every year after, partially in memory of the lives lost, and partly because I refuse to bow down to terror. A lot of people I know don't fly as much anymore, but I still travel same as before.

I am also a Military Channel / History Channel junkie, and have watched nearly every show on our special forces. I really admire our brave men and women in uniform, and can't thank your contributions and sacrifices enough.

Anyway enough rambling from me. God Bless and give our enemies hell!!!

Reintroduction.....ZippyII here. I was posting as "Zippy". Established a new account because I couldn't log in on the old one. Old fart here, headed down the dark path...took about a year to get things squared away....

First Post

Greetings eveyone,

I'm a reservist in the USNR, serving first as an Intel Specialist, and now a 1635. I'm likely to deploy in the next 12 months or so to Southwest Asia, and so I'm doing a lot of learning (among a lot of other things!) to get ready. I've already read a number of threads here and I've obviously come to the right place to get real info. I've seen quite a few other forums and, well, let's just say they really don't compare.

Thanks for all the info - a lot of the questions I have at this point have been answered but I'm sure more will come up and maybe I'll actually post a few myself. And thanks not only for posting all the great info, but - of course - for your service to our country.

Hello,

First post here,

I'm an active duty Air Force member. My intent for being here is to learn from what appears to be a vast spectrum of diverse backgrounds. I'm honored to be a guest at this site as I'm not a Special Forces member; my respect goes to you few who have and continue to serve our country.

Hello Staff and members,

First, I'd like to say THANK YOU very much for your service and this wonderful site - it is an incredible resource, and although I have been lurking here for months, I have plenty more reading to do!

My name is Derek, and I'm a junior in high school. I'm just a civilian (for now) who is looking into Special Forces. My interests are history, current events, guns, gear, military, and the norm. It's an honor to be able to post in the same community as you guys.

I do not believe I will be posting much, as my lane is very narrow, but I felt it necessary to properly introduce myself, and to say thanks for all of the material here.

Good day,

- Derek
