My Intro

Hello all. My name is Zach and I'm 16 years of age. I'm focusing on my 25m target but I hope to have the opportunity to see if I have what i takes to be in the Special Forces. I love the military and will avidly pursue it when I graduate HS.

I've made almost every mistake a guest to this board can make, and I've learned from them all and I understand more from them. My respect for the SF has increased ever more because of it, and I will comply with what is expected of me from now until whenever.

To other guests to PS, please, for your sake, read all stickies and rules before posting. This isn't a board for kids or immature people.

My high school has a program that was started 3 years ago - it's name is Delta. It stands for Dedication, Excellence, Leadership, Training, & Academics. It's an officially recognized program operated under the ARNG and is led by Major General Ike Pilot, former Mississippi Assistant State Adjutant. I've been in the program since it's beginnings, and I'm now it's CSM. We technically aren't populated enough for the current ranks to be legitimate in comparison to their real-world standings, but we're recruiting aggressively. So far, we've expanded the program into 2 different schools, and we're assisting another school this summer so as to prepare their new program for the upcoming school year.
We train all our cadets in D&C, Tactics, Physical Fitness, & General Military Knowledge. We recently held our 2nd annual "Delta Summer Trip" and learned a great deal in it's entirety. All cadets that attended were required to assemble, disassemble, and clean the standard Army M16A2, which all cadets successfully completed. We're also proud to say that we were trained in general weapons knowledge and use with the M16A2, M14, M1 Garand, BAR, M60, Thompson, & .30 Cal.

Anyways, please excuse the lengthy post but I'm trying to abide by the stickies and post some information about myself so that whoever I speak with won't be ignorant to whom they're speaking with. If anyone has any questions what-so-ever, feel free to ask!

Zach:

You assume too much, young Jedi. You are not a CSM, you are not Delta, you are not an 18E, and you probably shouldn't be using the SF motto as your own. Plenty of time for that later, after you have accomplished something and earned it.

I recommend that you not post again for several months, especially not to ask ridiculous questions, and that you let me know what you would like your new user ID to be, since you are not a future anything yet, and we explain that in the rules and stickies.

Best of luck.

Hello from WA

Hello all,

My name is Greg Hxxxxxxx

I live in the Seattle area, former Ranger with 3rd batt. and RRD, then 12SFG, some IMA time, then some time off, and currently with A/1/19.

Hobbies: like everyone else on the board shooting! I climb a little when I have time, jump a couple times a year, very interested in military history, mostly WWII airborne (axis and allies) and Vietnam (LRRP, SOG, etc) of course some of you guys lived what I call history!

Look forward to learning from the old hands.

I originally joined PS.com as an excellent information source, you can learn a lot from just listening and using wikipedia, for the primary purpose of research for a tabletop RPG I play in weekly. However after lurking for several months and witnessing the candor that the moderation team and members here display I was intrigued to, as a wise elderly gentleman once said, “Stay awhile and listen”. I haven’t regretted it yet, every time I read about a news story on another site, I always come here to see what you all have to say, and it is always well tempered with common sense, a rare commodity on the internet to say the least. PS has also increased my respect for soldiers immensely and has made me seriously consider joining the military myself.

As for myself, I am a 23 year old construction worker from Longmont (a small city about 30 miles north of Denver). My interests are Computers, Photography(The Reaper once made a comment about how cool a shot of him in full kit jumping out of the back of a plane at night would be, I agree, some of the opportunities for images would be impressive with some QP’s around),Writing and finally Tabletop gaming. I am working on a Information Network Security degree, Id like to potentially work as a security penetration tester for a living. If any of you have questions that I might be able to answer or at least entertain in either of my areas of knowledge by all means send a PM.

Read every thread here on anything SF related, and learn to use proper punctuation in your posts.

If you want to be taken serious then learn to take yourself serious and stop being lazy.

Otherwise, welcome to PS.com.

I am a current member of the site but have been lurking around for awhile now and decided to post a second introduction. Just graduated SFQC back on 30 MAY and now back in Clarksville to get back into the good fight. I have found this site and members' knowledge very helpful in the journey so far. Hopefully I can contribute something worhwhile in the future.

Thanks again

Hello

Hello,
I have wanted to join the military since I was 15 years of age, but have been persuaded by friends and family to do otherwise. I have always had a feeling of service to the “oppressed” and a unusual amount of patriotism. However, my family and social network expected at least one college degree from me, and for me to grow up to be a reputable young professional. I went to college and got my bachelors, and was talked into the horror that is law school. I am currently surrounded my people whose only motivation is material wealth and seeing their name on the letterhead.

I have always felt that with time I would fit in with everybody else and chase the “white bread” American Dream. It has not happened, and I have had an immense feeling to do something in life with substance, and a career that I can truly be proud of. I have decided that best way for me to this, to help the oppressed, and forward American policy is SF.

I can speak and read Spanish at a fairly high level, and hope to be at a 3/3 by the end of the year. I plan on starting Arabic at the end of the summer, and want to have a fair grasp of it before I finish law school. I am a very active athlete and have just discovered the joy that is rucking. I have read everything from Sun Tzu to the Ranger Handbook and found it all fascinating. I have every intention of being as prepared both physically and mentally as I can be, for the challenges that lay ahead. My current plan is to finish law school, pass the bar, and then enlist as an 18x. I hope I have what it takes to one day serve with the best and the brightest.
Sorry for the long introduction, but it will be my only post before I go back to being the gray man. Thank you to everyone who serves this great country.

Greetings from Malaysia

Hello everyone. My name is Nicholas Gomez. I'm 31 and am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am not in, and never was in the military but have always had a strong interest in military equipment, knives, firearms, etc. In high school I was a Police Cadet (most schools here have either Police, Army or Navy Cadet platoons - my school, Aminuddin Baki had Police). I joined because the uniforms & shoes were free. For Red Crescent/Boy Scouts you had to buy everything. After concentrating on automobiles/motorcycles for the past 10 years or so, the recent events around the world and the purchase of three military/survival knives and movies like Black Hawk Down have rekindled my interest in militaria. I hope to learn a lot about what's going on around the world through this forum, which looks like it is one of the better ones on the net. My sincere apologies if I go against protocol or make mistakes. Thanks for the opportunity to join. Regards, Nick

My name is Alex and I was a Firefighter in the AF for 6yrs until I was medically retired for a shoulder surgery. I have been overseas doing contract work for the past 3 years. I am looking into going back in to the military if possible. I have a couple coworkers who are ex group guys and have picking their brains about SF. I am here to find as much information out about SF as I can. Thanks for allowing me to be a member of this forum.
