Intoduction

Hello everyone. My name is Allen. I am currently serving in the U.S. Army. I came to this site following a recommendation from the book: "Get Selected for Special Forces" written by Major Joe Martin, with MSG Rex Dodson. I am attending SFAS in Oct 08. My main goal for this website is simply to get information. I find that it is easier to use a system that has served me well - when I get into the unknown, such as this site, it is best to keep my eyes and ears open, and my mouth shut.

That being said, I want to personally thank all of the QP's and anyone currently serving (SF or not) this country. Without all of you, this nation wouldn't exist.

If and when I do post(or reply), I will endeavor not to ask the same questions as those previously asked. I have been paying attention to The Reaper's posts and he is right, the search button is my friend.

Thanks for listening. Have a good one.

Greetings

Hello to all,

I am a 25 year veteran of SF. I graduated the "Q" in 1983 (Class 3-83). I was assigned to 5th Group until 1st Group opened. I was in A-2-1 ODA146 from Aug 84 to Sep 88. I then went to SWTG and was one of the initial Cadre for SFAS or SFOT as it was called then. (I am the creator of the Sand Baggies), I was then moved to the Echo committee, then back to Camp MacKall in Phase 13. After that I went to C-1-1 ODA 133, From there I went to Group then to B-2-1 ODA 154, After that I spent 4 years at the Test Board, From there I went back to C-2-1 ODA 165 and the I went to C-1-1 as the Company Ops. I will be retired in Sep 08 with 26 years experience. My MOS's were 18B, 18E, 18F, 18Z. with alot of ASI and SQI's.

MSG Doug Petitjean (Retiring)

Hello! My name is Jakub (=James) and I am from the Czech Republic, Europe. I am a (new) student of Police Academy in Prague. I found this site via my friend and it´s great! I am here to listen to the QP and others experienced men to gather some important informations about SF and things around. I am very interested in the SF generally. Our country (the Czech republic) is a true ally of USA in war on terror. Our soldiers from 601st Special forces Group conducted twice in combat operations against Taliban in AX together with US SF. Actually, US SF took place in international exercise FALCON 2008 in the Czech republic together with 601st SFG.

I don't know what "Sand Baggies" are but if they can inflict pain and suffering upon SF Candidates they sound like pure genius, thank you Doug! And Welcome aboard!

TS and those of us whose training preceded the SFAS POI--I think SFAS was what occurred when you were posted to your first team and they put you through their 'selection' phase. I knew guys who made it through SFTG but failed the 'team selection' phase of their training and were then sent packing to join the Eighty-Twice, Tilted Shithouse, 44th Med, 50th Signal, or 18th Airborne Carnival Corps. Sometimes they pulled their 'S' and sometimes they just sent them packing to get them the hell out of SF as quickly as possible.

Hello All

Hello, My name is Russell. I am 32 y/o, currently residing in Houston Texas. I am prior service Army, 91W, which is now 68W, Medic. Currently I am working on getting my degree, however I am not sure in what just yet. I got out in Jan 04, and to this date cannot seem to get my stuff squared away here in the civi world. After I get myself cleaned up a bit, ( i.e. lose some weight, and get my PT back to standard,) I intend on joining the National Guard here in Texas. There are a lot of decisions in my near future that will concern my career, so I decided to sit back and get all the info I could, thats when I stumbled onto this website. Thank you everyone in advance for all the information given on this site.

Introduction

My name is Brian. I'm a medic currently deployed with the 101st, 3BCT. I've had the crazy dream about going to selection for a good while, but never thought I'd have a snowball's chance in hell of passing until recently. I've been applying myself in the gym and with studies to help raise my GT score, learn more medically, and reading the posts here. I will be putting in a packet for selection as soon as we've redeployed back to the states (and have had a better chance to get my rucking chops up.)

Howdy, Rakkasan. You a line medic, or with the BSB? I was in the Signal Co. until about a year and a half ago.

Just reporting in...

I'm not Special Forces but I've been reading this forum on and off for awhile and it seems to be a great resource to learn from so I thought I'd join in, I dont have much to bring to the table but I do have an open mind and enjoy training.

I'm an 11B out of Ft. Carson now with 2-8 INF, spent a year at Ft. Hood with 1-5 CAV and 15 months in Iraq...Re-enlisted and PCSd to Ft. Carson and I'm so far really enjoying it here. Spent most of my time in the Army as a 240B gunner/team ldr.

On my way

Let me first and foremost say thank you for this board. It has proved to be one of the best resources for my self as a 18Xray (shipping 20080707). Next only to "Chosen Soldier" by Dick Couch and "Get Selected for [SF]" by Major Joe Martin and company. I began the informative phase of my joining back in 2003 while studying in China, and ever since that interest has multiplied till this point. Thankfully I waited because as a serious consideration, I was looking into the Marine Corp...primarily because of the importance placed on Physical preparedness. However I still maintained to work the 9 to 5 life style to see what that offered for a few years and learned most importantly that it does not suit my personality. I look forward to all the learning and challenges that face me in coming years.
Once again, I thank all of you who have served and struggled through this process I'm set to begin, and look forward to one day earning the "Professional" title.
