Magic Hat does have some damn fine beers.

I saw the Chimay at the local Total Wine store over the weekend, and I should probably pick up some and try it at the proper temperature. However, and this will probably get me banned from this thread, after working in London for a summer several years ago, I told myself I'm never drinking near-room temperature beer again.

It is not "room temp" it is "Cellar temp" which should be closer to 52-55F. Too warm and you will have just as nasty a beer as too cold. Cellar temps allow for the perfect combination of all the ingredients of the beer to come together and give you what the brewer intended. At those temps the complexity of the malts will astound and the wonderful aroma/flavors will make you wish you had time to drink beer all day long. The next thing you know you will want to run a brewery...

Brew - see if you can find the Cricket Hill - the IPA is subtitled - HOPNOTIC. the American Lager is nice - not too malty, not too hoppy - good amber color and flavors up at about 50*. I've got to try the other 3 they brerw - I'll report back.

Thumbs up

Hooray Necro Post!

I recently discovered a new seasonal Variety of Sam Adams, their Double Bock is very nice. I can handle standard Sam Adams occasionally, but their various other offerings suit me a bit better, Brown ale, Black Lager, Scotch ale, Cream Stout, and now this Double Bock.

Does this mean you're finally old enough to drink?

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. Yuengiling Lager and rarely anything else. Although I have been known to empty my case and take friends Bud Lights.

Any port in a storm, hell it's cloudy here. of course, forgoing Lonestar in favor of PBR is considered High Treason in this part of the world.

Here in the mid-atlantic:

Wild Goose Brewery Frederick, MD - Oatmeal Stout

If I'm blessed with a trip out west:

Deschutes Brewery Bend, OR - Black Butte Porter

For some odd reason Lonestar has become very popular up here.

Since we don't wear shoes here in Kentucky, NOT DRINKING beer, of any kind, is considered high treason.

LOL, in the past few years, PBR has become REALLY trendy in Hollywood. Bars actually charge a premium for it -- it's the next Rolling Rock.
