Introduction

Hello to all. I have browsed through these forums for quite a while, along with those at SOCNET. I'm a TACP/JTAC currently serving in OEF with the 173rd and I am strongly considering the jump to SF, particularly 3/20th in Ocala, FL when I get back. Until then, I will continue the reading and lurking in the shadows. Out!

My Introduction

I would like to start off by saying thanks for giving me the opportunity to learn from all of the QP's on this forum. I won't ask many questions since I enjoy doing my own research. So after this post you all probably won't hear much from me again. So a little about myself, I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and I have two tours in Iraq under my belt. I recently got out of the Marine Corps a year ago and decided to join the PA Army National Guard. I have another tour in Iraq coming up next year and I hope to one day go to SFAS and see if I have what it takes. Thats just a little about myself. Thanks again.

Introduction

Thank you for allowing me to join this esteemed company of professionals.

I'm a retired law enforcement officer who is now teaching Criminal Justice at a small Texas High School. While on active duty from 81 to 86 I was a 13R Field Artillery Firefinder Radar Operator. I stayed in the Reserve Army until 1999 and got activated for Desert Storm in 91. Because I was an instructor, I stayed at Ft Sill OK the whole time and never deployed to SW Asia.

During my Reserve time, I was assigned to JTF-6 at Bliss and worked in a DEA office as an intelligence analyst. This was the same job that I did for the sheriff's office in civilian life, so no great leap. I worked with several Federal Drug Task Forces that utilized SF assets for surveillance purposes on the SW Border area.

I will post very little probably but will read a lot.

hello

My name is Kenny. I'm as you can probably tell in in 4th ID. Some of you may actually know my batt. commander, Dale Buckner. My batt. is his first non-sf unit in 10 years. I plan on going to selection after i get back from iraq.

Re-read the instructions you were sent after you registered. We don't do individual threads for introductions. Peregrino

Greetings

Hello. My name is Bill and I am an Army Officer currently deployed in Iraq for the third time. I enlisted in '92 as a 13F, decided ROTC was the way to go, served 8 years as an active duty officer, then joined the National Guard. I have served on battalion staff, been a Company Commander during the invasion of Iraq and worked as an assistant operations officer in 10th Mountain. Currently conducting Convoy Security Operations throughout Iraq. Will likely read more than post and look forward to all the nuggets of wisdom to be found in these forums. Thanks for allowing be to be a part of this site.

See you on the high ground.

My name is Levi and I'm 23 years old. I graduated from college last year with a degree in European studies and political science. I am seven months into a 27-month assignment with the Peace Corps. I work as a community health adviser in Bahir Dar, the capital city of the Amhara region of Ethiopia. Anyways, I'm looking into SF as a possible career choice after my PC service. I have no prior experience with any branch of the armed forces.

Hello everyone, I'm Justin. I'm 18 years old and hoping to one day be an 18D. As for right now I'm working with my recruiter to enlist as a 68W with a Ranger Enlistment Option. I should be going to MEPS very soon. I am currently a Firefighter/EMT. After skimming through the medical sections of the forum I've learned a lot in the few days I've been reading on here. I thank you for providing this resource and the opportunity for me to learn from you all.

hello

First off, I would like to thank those quiet professionals who have provided such a wealth of information for me on my quest to join your ranks. So heres a little about me. I spent the past year in the 68K (med lab technician) in fort lewis and sam houston. It was during my training that I found I wanted more out of the army. Being on upper level team sports my whole life, I found the regular army just didnt foster the same level of comradery. It was during my stay in Ft.Lewis that I met my inspiration. My mother is a folk singer who happened to know a fellow entertainer named (Col) Hank Cramer. A former 1st grouper and team CO, he spoke of a different army. After a long chat with him about the riggors and wonders of the field, I couldnt get my mind off it. Its thanks to him that I really have made the desicion to pursue SF. So here I am today. I took the first step this week and called the NG recruiter here in Boston. Through him, I was set up with an appointment at the 1/20th C co in Springfield MA. I have prepared my body and mind my whole life for this, let the journey begin. APFT 120p/u 100S/U 2mi 11:30min GT132

Quiet Professional's,

My name is David and I am a 17 year old high school senior. I enlisted in the Army last October with an 11x/Option40 contract (Infantry Recruit/Airborne Ranger) and ship to Ft Benning for OSUT June 4th. Although I will not be serving in Special Forces, I believe it's beneficial for me to learn as much as I can about their heritage, history, and training.

Thank you for the opportunity to learn.
