Greetings,

My name is Richard, I am currently enlisted as 68W, I ship off to BCT 22 May 08.
I have no future plans to join/get into SF of the Army. Mainly due to medical restrictions (color deficiency.) Its not severe I honestly did not know till MEPS, but thats neither here nor there. Ive been to this site several times mainly for my own reading knowledge / pleasure and will continue to do so. Just figured I would register.

Thanks!

Intro

Hello all,
I am an 18F waiting to see what happens on this years 8 list. I have 17 1/2 years in the Army 12 years of team time with a five year break in service that helps explains my rank. I had ETS'd in 1997 only to return after 9/11.
I found this site while searching for information on a good friend of mine Jason Brown from 5th Group who just passed away while hunting and eliminating the scum of Al-Qaeda. I won't post much unless there is something of first hand knowledge that I can pass along. (I know how some people get with the I heards and I had a friend who said stories.)
Anyway my bio is:
4 years 504th PIR 82nd ABN
12 Years 5th SFG(A)
the last year and a half at SWCS.
Feel free to hit me up with anything I can help with and I will be doing the same. You guys have a great looking site and I can't wait to explore it more when time permits.

JP

Greetings from the Pacific NW. I work on a tech-related product that every one of you use, though unfortunately I can't go into details on my employer or what I do for them. Have been lurking for awhile, and really enjoy reading some sections of the forum.

Thanks for letting me join you here, and thanks so much to all who have served.

Introduction

Hello,

I've been lurking for a bit, so I figured I should introduce myself. I'm currently a college student who will be graduating with a B.A. in political science this fall. My short and medium-term goals after that are to enlist in the Army, complete OCS, succeed as a Soldier in the regular Army, and to complete and be selected at SFAS.

Thank you for this resource, I've learned a lot here.

Hello all,

I'm an officer candidate currently attending OCS, and I joined this board primarily to gain insight into a more professional side of the Army.

Never too big to admit a mistake. My first post ended up a response in another thread, without a first posting here. I am now correcting that error.

After IOBC and Ranger School, an initial infantry assignment at Ft. Lewis with 2/1st Inf., 9th ID, and a trip through Huachuca for intel training, went through Q course to 2/10th with deployments to Denmark, Europe and Middle East. From 10th to 11th, serving with A Co., 1/11th at Devens and then as an IRR to SF Command at Bragg.

My first platoon sergeant at Lewis: Then SSG, later CSM Mike McIntyre (5th Group CSM in 2001). My fellow rifle platoon leader in C Co., 2/1, then 2LT, later COL Pete Dillon (former 7th Group Commander). One of the most stand out PFCs in the company...then PFC, now CSM, Marvin Hill, CSM to Gen. Petraeus.

Been an attorney in NH since 87 and now running for Congress, which you can note under the At Ease/Soapbox thread.

Error corrected. one for the airborne, one for the Rangers and one for Special Forces.

Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I spent the last few hours looking around and would like to say thanks on behalf of all the rooks for making this place and for the 'leg up' into the community....feel like a sponge that just fell into the TN river! I go by Andy and am from just south of Knoxville. It took me almost 10 years to come full circle to get back into the pipe...but well worth the wait. Currently headed to 7th. Look forward to serving w/ some of you. -Adios

Greeting everyone,

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a SSG in the RA. I have spent most of my short career at Ft. Bragg and am now stationed in Germany. I'm all set to attend SFAS this summer and have been taking in all the information this site provides. Thank you all for having me.
