I wonder if for a tactical consideration we could initiate the offense with a Shark attack, the Boats/ships off shore can play the theme song to JAWS, and our Shark can head for the beach. That would cause the locals to go into a frenzy giving us a major element of surprise. Our invasion fleet could land with safety.

That brings up an important subject, as distasteful as it may be. Who's going to "manage" the media? Can we ban them?

As soon as I was "volunteered" to check the water depth for the Sail Boat, I put into action a plan I've been working on for just this occasion.

Not sure about the Land Shark, wouldn't there be a cry of inhuman weapons being used? PETA and Rainbow warrior would be there to protest.

I think it is a great idea, but is has to be covert.

I am sorry, but I will have to abdicate my esteemed position. I have no use for most generals and as I have stated previously if I ever wore a star it would be because I had elected to work for Texaco. I prefer to stay in the back ground and organize a shadow government that will provide guidance to the underground to help extract you XYs from what is rapidly becoming a feindish XX trap. All you have to do is run a shadow government, throw parties and schmooze all of your old GS buddies so they don't feel the need to invade our Island paradise - and you get a big house on a hill. I'm thinking we need to set ourselves up as a nominal US Protectorate to keep our citizenships, and incorporate our venture under our own laws - a nice tax haven - so essentially you would be a CEO.

And for some reason, I think that FS and Blue have Ranger Joes as the first speed dial after their families, then QVC, Then the full service salon for hair and nails.... just a guess. LL probably has B&N or Amazon as her second speed dial. Roycroft the same. Gypsy - probably WM or TS or TR - then QVC. whose missing? I'm gonna catch some flak here.....

New and used, the largest in the nation - covers a full city block by 3 stories high with a few more satellite stores around town. They sell books, unlike the above mentioned stores who sell all sorts of things and books. Any order over $50 has free shipping, period. None of that convoluted crap, get free shipping on this, but not that. *end plug*

But wait, it gets worse. My first speed dial number is the gym and the second is Mom and Dad; they understand their position in life. No clue what this QVC thing is, sounds deterimental to the pocketbook, maybe because I don't own a TV?

I prefer Cokesbury Bookstore or The Strand Bookstore (3 acres of new and used books! 2 loc. in NYC).

QVC is an evil plot to separate uninformed idiots from their money - without leaving the comfort of their sofa, it was hatched by TV executives who have since moved on to crack dealing, and Ebay.

It will not be allowed to spread it's evil grasp in our new country.

What do you think of gunnerjohn's nomination for media control? Hmm...TR, TS and AM, should they accept more on their already laden plates, could form the perfect trio for monkey stomping the LSM (lame stream media).

First of all, I love the fact you used the word "feindish" Mr. Moroney! One doesn't get to see that word oft used these days! But I'm with LL... what is QVC please? (I dont have cable...is it on cable?) The first entry on my cell phone is my Mum.... followed by the BF, and then Mr. Harsey.

Ms. Gypsy, I really like the idea of the media being banned. What if an errant microphone gets left on somewhere on the island, and someone says the "s" word. It could be bad!

It is a home shopping channel on most cable and satellite providers. It convinces those that had absolutely no idea that a particular product existed that they can now not live without it.

I'm not surprised that most have their parent's phone number listed number one or two on their phones. I also imagine that if they could, the pre-recorded greeting to their parents would be not "Hi, how are you doing, what is new with you" but " You are not going to believe this s...!"

For the financial liquidity of the island, I hope it's not an Imelda Marcos budget.

Carlos Santana is a guitar player. Is Steve Madden related to John Madden? What does this have to do with the topic at hand? Are we going to have an expansion team? I doubt we could field a competitive NFL squad that could pass TS's personal maturity standards (or LL's grammer standards).
