Aloha. My name is Robert, and I'm a seventeen years old. I've found a lot of useful information off of this site, and would like to quickly thank those who created the site; I would also like to give thanks to those who maintain the forums/threads. I plan on taking a path where SF would still be a possible career, five to eight years down the road. This website is extremely insightful, and i hope to gain more knowledge as i read more throughout the threads.

Salutations

My name is Aaron, I am a 24yr old SSG AGR recruiter in Stillwater, OK. I spent the first four years in the Army in between Hawaii, Iraq, and Afghanistan (2-27 IN Scouts) and joined a Civil Affairs USAR unit so I could begin college. I came on AGR for Recruiting to be on AD while finishing my degree. I have been in recruiting 7 months now and plan to return to AD to attend selection ASAP. My CSM has told me he will push the 4187 to release me to enlist back to AD if I can simply find a solid replacement for myself here in Stillwater. I am taking my wife to the briefing next week so she can get some of her questions answered (I tried to get her to get on this website with me...). I have read alot already in the past two days on the Selection forums about what to expect and what is expected of me. Also purchased and read "Get Selected" by the WM....(thanks!). Looking forward to the first day of the rest of my life....

Did you sign 18x before you turned 30?

Are you currently enlisted?

If not, how did you get past the max age req. of 29?

Hi all,

Long time listener, first time caller. 18C with 20th Group. Joined a bit later in life, 26. Put my gov job on hold for three years while I did the Rep-63 thing and deployed. Just short of the wife and kids, best decision I ever made.

Introduction

I am a retired Police Officer from the Plano Police Department in Plano, Texas.
I worked as a Patrol Officer, Fraud Detective and was a member of the Bomb Squad. I graduated from the FBI HDS School at the Redstone Army Arsenal. I also attended Advanced Explosive Destruction Techniques and Advanced Explosive Ivestigation Techniques taught by the ATF at Fort AP Hill. I also attended FBI Large Vehicle Bomb Post Blast School and Large Vehicle Bomb Counter Measures School. I was also a Firearms Instructor and DT instructor.

I was in the Navy Reserves for 6 years and was a Gunners Mate. I then transferred to 136th Security Forces Squadron Texas Air National Guard. I was a ramp rat and then attended Combat Arms school and became a Firearms Instructor and Armorer. I then attended AMS and became the Commanding Officer of the Unit. I was activated after 9/11 and served for 2 years on active duty. I retired in 2005.

I currently work for a Private Security Firm as the Explosives Specialist and also as a Firearms and DT instructor.

Hopefully this meets your needs for a proper introduction.

My son is an 18X. He as at Benning now doing OSUT and should graduate in May. I am here hoping to get any info I can to assist him in his attempt to join your elite organization.

Gentlemen,
A little about myself. I am a 22-year-old college student in ROTC. I will commission in May as an Infantry 2LT, to be stationed at Schofield Barracks in HI. Right now I’m working my way through “Get Selected” and focusing on graduation and my subsequent training to be the best officer I can be. Thank you to all the QP’s for the great information on this site.

Introduction

My name is Brown and I am currently an active duty soldier, my rank is not important unless there is a need to know, I will gladly disclose. My MOS is 13B, however my unit is working outside the scope of that field doing mostly dismounted, air insertion type missions ( google "Operation Fox Hunt" and you should be able to get a look at me). As of this posting I am on R&R from FOB Warhorse with 4-2ID and I will be attending the SF briefing here at Ft. Lewis before I go back to theatre. This is my second go around in the Army, I was in the 31st ADA at Ft. Hood back in '91. First let me say that I am a Patriot, which is one of the main reasons I came back in the Army. Another reason is that I came back in with my son, who is a 19D on his way to a COP outside of Baghdad. I love the type of work we are doing in country, which is why I want to go to SFAS. We have worked with current and former SF individuals, learning from them as much as possible in order to maximize our efforts and to keep everyone alive. Let me say thanks to all of those that have helped us, and to everyone on this site for your wealth of information. I look forward to learning more as I continue to read and research.

Hello to everyone,

First, I would like to thank all of the administrators of this site for your dedication. To start, I recently qualified for the 18x program and wanted a more in depth look at what I was getting myself into. Now be assured I didn't just look at the job list and decieded ohh SF that looks fun. I did all the research before hand and I know exactly what I signed up for. I signed my contract on 20080318 and shipout 20080416. I will continue to read all that I can untill I leave, and should anyone feel the need to throw some pearls of wisdom my way please feel free.

Thank you for reading,

Alberto

Hello,
I am currently serving in 19th SFG, 18E waiting for a slot in the 18F course. Glad to see there is a professional site to share ideas and experiences.
I'm finishing my bachelors in intelligence studies and would love some input on those subjects as well, if anyone is up to it.

introduction

Active duty NCO, I'm in Mortuary Affairs for now but am awaiting a MOS change to 11B. Plan on spending a year or so there hopefully get a shot at Ranger then eventually after I feel I have gotten enough expierience I am going to selection. Had a chance to work with a few QP's on Anaconda, doing my job unfortunatly, but they helped me realize I really want to be one of them.
