Currently AD Navy, trying to go Blue to Green. This site has answered every question I can think of just by the search function. Thanks to those who take the time to post, and all those who serve. Back to lurking.

Hi all,

I'm a college student, considering a military career after graduation, and hopefully someday, having the chance to try and join my country's SOF unit (I'm canadian).

I came here to read (and heed) mostly, and learn about the lifestyle of SOF personnel.

Cheers, and be safe.

Introduction

My name is Jeff. I am 40+ married with 2 children. I have no prior military service. I have always been fasinated by the military, and have had several friends join. I am a purchasing agent for a government agency. I collect military type of firearms. I am a Scout Master with a local troop. I teach wilderness survival, and was hoping to pick up some more information that I could teach my 'boys'. I intend to give some of my knowledge back to this group, however with this group it will be hard. I've been lurking for a couple of days, and was already impressed by the professionalism on this sight. It's great to be here.

Copied so it can be read again.
It really breaks these QP's hearts to have to reprimand someone.

How's everyone doing?

Going to introduce myself quick. But, first, let me say that I am primarily here to lurk and learn as I travel down the Pipe Line. So here it goes:

I am former Active Duty Army, E-5 Sergeant- a forward observer. I was in for about three and a half years and traveled to Kuwait and Iraq for the invasion back in 2002 with a 3 ID Brigade Recon Team. I came home, PCSed and went to South Korea. Deployed from the peninsula with the 1/503rd Infantry Regiment to a little camp about the size of a football field in downtown Al-Ramadi, Iraq. Came home and ETSed. However, I couldn't fight the urge I have always had since first putting on the BDUs, and proceeded to sign up with 20th Group. Did the whole PT Test, evaluation deal and I am now an NQP, waiting to go to Selection- probably in January.

Well that's me. I am looking forward to a future of some entertaining, informative reading. Appreciate your time.

Later on

Steve
