Since i am reading some time here already i thought its time for a little introduction.
My name is Holger, i am 22yo and from germany. I've never been in the military, currently learning to be a electrician, thinking about joining afterwards if possible.
I'm here because i have a big interest in anything US SF related (dont ask me why, some people here like soccer i live US SOF Units ) probably sounds stupid.
Maybe i can contribute a bit gear related infos in the future.

b00n/Holger

pS: Before somebody asks my nickname isnt supposed to be n00b backwards

PS: Excuse my english

Greetings all,
Frmr support-type here from 3rd / 12th from '87 to '90. Prior to that and again now (after a significant break in service) a regular grunt.

Glad I stumbled across a link to this board.

I'm attending the school located in the People's Democratic Republik of Boulder, thankfully for only one more semester. It has been entertaining running 'operations' against the war protestors, though.

LMAO

Lived in Littleton for 11 years, (9 blocks form the High School, mom still does), and I know EXACTLY what you're talking about.

Welcome.

There tends to be quite a few of the liberal persuassion further south in the state as well......it does get better as you head south, but you really have to get past CU and CC before you can breathe a littel better.

See, that's why I'm not so big on Colorado. I love northern Nevada, Wyoming, Montana... good god-fearing people who know hospitality, responsibility, and respectability. Colorado, hell... I might as well stay here in the DPRK.

as leberally bad as some may have this state be........I must add that we do have some pleasing gun laws, that favor gun owners and concealled carry.

Such as as shall issue law that states the local sherrif must issue a concealed carry permit, unless he can prove the applicant is a convicted felon.

also in order to carry a gun in your vehicle all you have to do is state to an officer that you choose to carry a firearm for your personal defense, end of story.

there is quite the liberal gun lobby against this, but as of yet we have prevailled!

In Jefferson, Clear Creek and Boulder County (and I belive Douglas county too) you can carry a sidearm anywhere you'd like. As long as it's NOT concealed. You can walk into a Bank with a pistol on if you so choose. Granted, you'll get alot of stares and questions thrown your way.

It's a little known law. But it's there on the books.

Same in the Springs. Some guy was carrying a shotgun over his shoulder around downtown last summer to 'exercise his right'.

BTW, last I heard, there was a military retiree population in and around the Springs numbering approximately 50K, in addition to the FIVE (count 'em - five) bases and posts, so the Springs is pretty bearable in terms of conservative vs liberal.

Yep that's right. Springs....IIRC....Carson County ??

Actually...I thinks that law is state wide. Even Adams, Araphoe and Denver County. Although after Columbine, I belive there's a group wanting to dis-ban that and a bunch of other gun laws in those three counties. (BTW...for those that don't know...those are the three of the four that encomass D-town denver. The third is Jefferson county, and I don't think those boys are gonna give up thier guns).
