IF the media, both "news" and "sports" would quit reporting on these little people's "protests" then the whole thing would just fade away. Instead, they all have to keep rubbing everyone's faces in it and are surprised when they discover people don't have to take tune it and take it.
Now the crap has spread all the way down into youth football.
Texas youth football team's season ends early after National Anthem protest
At least these kids learned a lesson - you can protest, but there may be consequences.

I had pretty much given up on the NFL before his antics, but once he did what he did...that reinforced my reasons for completely giving up on them.

Since then, I haven't missed a thing!

Today's MSM is no longer truly a news outlet. It has become a form of entertainment that mimics news. Controversy fits their narrative so they spend the majority of their time on that rather than speaking about "true news."

What actor is cheating with what actress isn't news worthy, but that seems to be more important than the fact that our country is going down the drain.

I mentioned to Mrs B that we haven't watched a game all year, and haven't missed it at all. Being newlyweds, this was a mark in the plus column for me. Happy wife, happy life...

I believe people watch entertainment (and make no mistake, the NFL is solely entertainment) to get away from every day life. The second my television was inundated with who took a knee this week and why instead of how will the Dolphins make a QB out of Ryan Tannehill, I turned it off...no Sunday Countdown, no Fox Pregame, none of it.

When did our sports shows turn into news shows?

Once it was clear that taking a knee was free speech, but wearing shoes to memorialize 9/11 victims or a patch to memorialize fallen police officers couldn't be tolerated...
...well, since then I have retired from football.

I don't think I am going to get into the football hall of fame unless they create a record category for "least amount of fucks given by a fan: career".
...even then I don't think I would attend the induction ceremony.

If you were to stop by my house and look at the garden where I grow all of the fucks that I give about the NFL...
...you would notice that my garden is bare.

Fuck Colon Klumperdink and those cut from his cloth.
Fuck them right in the Colon.

Standing at attention for the anthem or pledge before a game was one of the two most important parts of the game along with the post game display of good sportsmanship. These are lessons and values that were instilled from the very first little league game. They were reminders that the game was a game and the game is small and inconsequential in the scheme of life and the stuff that really matters. Even those making millions need to remember this. This is not a "boycott" as much as it is a rejection of American values. Just as BLM is not a movement for the betterment of blacks as much as it is socialist propaganda and agenda.

I also have not watched a single NFL game this year and as long as this is tolerated have no interest.

I don't recall the national anthem being played, or the pledge being recited before my little league games. I also can't remember any of the ball fields having a flag pole. Who plays the anthem...Do they have little league bands?

And he can't seem to understand why the ratings would drop because of his protest.

I suspect that is not the only thing he doesn't understand.

It's almost spooky(in a good way) how little NFL chatter I'm seeing on social media this season.

Whereas the kickoff to the NHL hockey season seems to be off to a boom.

Next year is 100 years for NHL, and the following year is 100 for Mr Stanley's Cup.

Slap Shot film scene(Hansen Brothers fight and pre-game National Anthem):

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VHMi-j7W2gM

Specifically, 1:15-1:48 in the video, WARNING a bit of profanity if watched at work.

Doesn't SPLC list the Black Panthers as a domestic terrorist organization? If so, it seems the NFL wouldn't want to promote that. Lol...as if the NFL gives a rats ass how I feel anymore.
