Betting Pete Rose.
Back in 88 or 89 or 90 (it was foggy) I was at Campbell. Pete Rose was coaching the Reds and they were in Nashville for an exhibition game against the Nashville minor league team, the Blues. MRFL and I went to the game. The Reds lost. That night we stayed in the Union Station Hotel. The next morning we went to brunch. We were standing in line and Pete Rose was behind us. Behind him was some guy who took advantage of the "your famous, I'm not" difference to try out his comedy routine.
Sez he, "Hey PETE, I BET you won't SELL me an AUTOGRAPH."
Sez Pete, "If I were a betting man, you might win that bet, Champ."
The line moved on and so did everyone else.

He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

In his own hell, Pete Rose has done way more time than Mr. Vick, IMHO.

Back early??

Roger Goodell plans to meet with the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback today to tell him when he'll be fully reinstated, The Times has learned. Vick could be ready to go for Sept. 13 opening game.

The guessing game will soon be over for Michael Vick.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell plans to meet today with the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and inform him when he will be fully reinstated, The Times has learned.

Vick is in the New York area for tonight's exhibition finale against the Jets and is expected to start the second half of that game.

When he conditionally reinstated Vick earlier this summer, Goodell said he would grant full reinstatement by no later than Week 6, provided the quarterback lives up to his end of the agreement. Now, it's entirely possible Vick could be ready to go for the Sept. 13 opener at Carolina.

One of the reasons the Eagles view it as important to know about Vick's status as soon as possible is teams must have their final 53-man rosters in place by Saturday.

As it stands, the Eagles have Vick on the roster as well as quarterback A.J. Feeley, who could have significant trade value. If Vick is granted full reinstatement right away, it would free Philadelphia to trade Feeley while keeping Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb as its starting and backup quarterbacks.

Since the conditional reinstatement, Goodell has been in weekly contact with Vick and/or former NFL coach Tony Dungy, whom the commissioner appointed to act as a mentor to the quarterback.

Side note

On a side note, at least Adam "Pacman" Jones will remain suspended by the NFL, and WILL NOT be playing for the CFL this year Hopefully, the NFL will never reinstate him, but we shall see.

I guess this initiative gives inmates new potential job opportunities

He must not of been a good enough player for the NFL to overlook his crime

You would think an organization run by Ingrid Newkirk, a woman who believes chicken's lives are as valuable as humans, would support the breed's existence right?

PETA’s Position on Pit Bull Bans
Legislatures across the country are increasingly seeking to ban pit bulls in an effort to crack down on dogfighting and prevent attacks by pit bulls. PETA supports legislation that bans the breeding of pit bulls, just as we support any spay/neuter legislation as the most effective way to combat the tragic companion animal overpopulation problem. We also support pit bull bans, as long as they include a grandfather clause allowing all living dogs who are already in good homes and well cared for to live the remainder of their lives safely and peacefully.
PETA supports such laws because they have the potential to prevent an enormous amount of suffering. In the United States, pit bulls stand out as the most abused of all dog breeds.

Just apply's to pitbulls. I have a bluenose female and am a fan of the breed.

Not sure what FOG stands for - Foreign Operating Group?

Thanks for your service!

I missed it also.

I figured the Rib link must have been a reference to "People Eating Tasty Animals".
