Springfield MC Operator

I went with a Springfield Armory MC Operator. It will be here Wednesday. Probably get to shoot it Saturday. I'll keep you all informed as I go along. I'm a bit hyped - first time I've been able to do this in a couple of decades.

Brownells is a wonderful company and a Satan Pit of Hell if you have internet access and a debit card...

I've had the MC Operator for two years now. Its a great pistol, I haven't had any issues out of it. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

Thanks. What holsters are you using for it?

NDD, you should check out the holsters from Wilson Combat. They make several OWB models which will accomodate a railed 1911 w/o light, and they are pebble-grained kydex with a suede lining to protect the finish. I love mine, which I use for a Nighthawk built on the Caspian railed frame.

I bought an Uncle Mikes kydex holster when I bought the pistol and its worked out ok, but a friend turned me onto hybrid holsters and I bought a Minotaur MTAC holster from Comp-TAC. It turned out to be an awesome piece of kit and it is my primary holster now. Here is a link to the holster.

I use the Blade-Tech kydex holster that can take the TRL-1 weapon light...
I have two... one is a straight drop and the other has a thumb-break.

I also use the Safariland 6004...both styles work great.

Raven Concealment does a damn nice job, they just have a lot of business at the moment, so it may take a couple weeks to get your holsters, but they are worth it.

Good times,
Blake

Just kidding, brother. It looks like a sweet shooter, and having a rail is a nice option. I look forward to your range report.

I picked it up today, it's beautiful. I changed the grips for Strider gunners. That changed the whole look of the gun. I'm going to have to sand down the right side where it meets the heel of my hand, I've already got a hot spot from dry firing.

There is very, very little play in the slide (none). The mag release was so tight we thought the grip screws were run through and holding up the mag. It ejects them half-way across the room. Trigger pull is probably a bit under 5 lbs. Sights are Novaks lo pro nights.

I'm very pleased, but I can't wait to get it dirty.

Air 177-90210 hooked me up with Comp Tac, so I have a holster coming. There was one and a two mag carrier in the box with the gun, I can use that until the real one gets here.
