Won a bottle(full 1.75 liter) and even in my many years in Germany had never tried this liqueur, until now but I've been drinking it ice cold and straight in a glass of ice cubes and this stuff is great.......How about you 10th guys, what's your verdict on this fabulous booze? .............

Jager
The German civilians in my area around Grafenwoehr only drank Jagermeister when they felt sick (stomach upset) or as a dare drink with our German partnership unit.
I'm glad that you like it. You're more man than I am.

Jagermeister
Jagermeister
Masterhunter?
Teddy,
In the region where I was at in Germany it was a tradition to drink one shot after a large meal to help with digestion. It's ok but it's rather sweet so one shot is fine with me. It's best when served very cold.

Being in college, I've encountered too much of this stuff. I still like it on the rocks, but I'd rather drink black Sambuca.

I whole heartedly agree on the Black Sambuca, that said, I do enjoy a touch of Yager now and then. It not only soothes the stomach but makes you forget the last two nights and at least one morning.

During my time in the Hunsruck, early 80's, Jeager touted by the locals as an aide to digestion.
Stuff has a bit of a bite; and the Germans did a lot of "digesting"....

I think it's only good in excess. It's one of those things you do when you're young just to show you're invincible -- stuff tastes like bad cough syrup.

I have a confession to make.... I had 3 glasses with ice that night and I got bombed... That stuff is pretty strong and RL is right it did taste like cough medicine..... I doubt if I'm ever going to have another drink of it.......I'm just to old to handle that kind of booze..... Back to my Keystone beer for me..

First introduced to it while in Germany. Like R.L. stated, I too thought it tasted like bad cough syrup. One of my room mates kept a bottle by the window. He used to take a swig out of it every morning. He said it would "wake him up in the morning". I was like, "What about a nice cup of coffee? Wouldn't that work better?" Granted, finding a "nice cup of coffee" on our post, was next to impossible.
I used to like it. Notice I wrote ......"Used To".
After my brothers bachelor party, 10 years ago, I just won't touch the stuff anymore. Even the smell of it makes me sick.

Jagermeister is a "digestif" similar to the Amaro family usually drank after a meal in contrast to an "aperitif" which is a liqueur consumed before a meal. I had too many bad experiences with the Jager. Just a whiff makes me cringe. Being here in Malta, I have grown accustomed to Molinari White Sambuca with my Espresso Lungos. Grappa isnt't too bad either.

I like it best in a jaegerbomb. Although I'm becoming a big fan of the "bear Fight" as well (Irish Carbomb chased with a Jaegerbomb.)

Is a Jaegerbomb when it's flamming before you drink it? I once was at a beer festival in Deutschland and some Germans were dropping shots of it into their half liter mugs and then drinking the entire thing. Wew!

....if you guys think jager is strong
Try Rumplemintz.
100 proof peppermint schnapps.
or you could always make a dead nazi:
Jager and Rumplemintz
a liquid cocaine:
Jager, Rumplemintz, Goldschlager
