The Early Bird got the worm-w/a camcorder

This was extracted from the Times Argus Newspaper out of Montpelier, VT. This is an annual rite of Spring. Apparently the blackflies or mosquitoes have not emerged yet down south because even the moose take to the ponds to avoid getting bled dry

Brattleboro man charged with lewd act

May 18, 2007

Associated Press

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) — Walking around naked is one thing. But Brattleboro's live-and-let-strip attitude toward public nudity has its limits.

A man spotted dancing nude on a downtown street has been charged with lewd and lascivious conduct, a felony punishable by up to five years in jail.

Adhi Palar, 20, of Brattleboro was charged Wednesday after police saw him dancing and "performing acts of lewdness involving his genitals and some clothing," said police Capt. Gene Wrinn. He wouldn't elaborate. "He was performing some lewd acts. He was getting some looks and we got some complaints."

Police didn't see it but saw a videotape someone else took of Palar, Wrinn said.

If convicted, he could get five years in jail.

Last summer, young people caused a stir when they began congregating in the buff downtown.

Brattleboro — which has a history of such behavior and no law against it — considered enacting an anti-nudity ordinance in the wake of all the activity, but the Select Board decided against it last September.

Some felt the onset of cold weather would be just as effective in discouraging people from taking it off.

But with the weather now warming, clothes are coming off.

Police will respond to complaints and if the person involved shows any sign of sexual gratification, they may be charged, according to Wrinn.

Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile....

WTF

I love the last comment. As in all law, it's the interpretation of the act that flys in the face of any judicial system.

In other words, it's OK to dance around nude in public, just dont get an erection.

"Gratification" That's a bit grey, but then again I suppose one mans "Gratification" is not necessarily another mans "Gratification"

I'm going to stop while I'm ahead. This is too funny and it's putting images in my head that are counter productive to my work today.

hah... thats my home state for you. Some very um interesting people there if you ever care to visit and see. Also a very beautiful state, but the roads leave much to be desired in some areas. I've also seen the other side of the Brattleboro State police, and they are little off as well.

My family has a summer place in Ashfield Mass. Close to the Border with VT. Beautiful place but definitely interesting people.
