A couple cans of sardines or anchovies opened and left in the sun for a few days develops a distinctive odor. The packing oil or water can then be transferred to the item as required.

Nuoc Mom
I just had to get rid of a bottle for fear it would leak during a move.

So let me get this straight, Counsel.
You are willing to have your yard smell like a sewer in order to keep people from stealing a $5 sign, or investing in some pipe, a few pieces of angle iron, and a bag of Sac-crete?
Before you smear the sign with your own feces like a political punji stick, have you considered moving the sign up into your planter area?

Ok, You kids are getting pretty close. Time for a country boy to step in, bring up a bow hunting supply on the web, find the "human odor masking scent" section. Get the skunk scent. Any questions?

Yuck. Please.
It gets stolen there too, and it is not as visible to traffic.
I'm liking the idea of crisco mixed with something unpleasant, but not that unpleasant.

I was just thinking the same thing....
I have always wondered why they sell pepper spray and not skunk spray. So much better and you can track the culprit.

Skunk scent has another advantage, it's organic! Liberals will love that. Then the perp has to sit in his/her Volvo to get away and that will stink too!

You sure you could hit it?
They are usually smaller than raccoons.
Better stick with the bottled stuff.
Yeah, that will reflect credibly on the B-C ticket.

Paint Landmine
I think you should add the optional "Burst Tube" as well.
Hey if you are willing to dedicate to cameras to this operation you might as well spend the extra 50 bucks and get this thing.
Just my .02 cents

I'm going to try smearing the sign and posts with a mixture of crisco and skunk scent. If that doesn't work, I'll try something else.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.
