Letter of Introduction
Hello Gents,
Thanks for letting me be a part of your community here. I was Infantry with the 1st CAV. Enjoyed it lots but got out to explore the world a bit. After two years wandering Asia, I was called back (as I expected to be), and with a gentle twist of my arm I'm now re-educated as Civil Affairs. No complaints though, I think it will be an interesting new adventure. Will be testing my new skills very shortly, probably in Iraq.

First and foremost- Thank you for the things you men do everyday, and thanks for the opportunity to be apart of this forum community.
My name is Jake, and I am currently Active Duty Army. Been in 3 years, 8 months and am serving in 1-3 INF (The Old Guard) In Washington, D.C. I was born and raised in California and will be returning there after I ETS in May 07. I have spoken to a recruiter for 19th SFG and plan to enlist in the National Guard early this summer. Though I may not know very much, I am open to help anyone with anything I can. I do not plan to post much here, just read and learn as much as I can to prepare myself. Thanks again for the opportunity to be here.

hello
My name's Edward and I'm a 13A Fire Support Officer in the 82nd. I've been on AD for just over a year and a half and look forward to the next few months when I'm eligible for SFAS. I was turned on to SF through my ROTC instructors back when I was in college. All of the NCOs and Captains were SF of some sort so we cadets always got the passive recruiting vibe. The interest is even stronger since I'm now at Bragg and interact with students and SF guys all the time. I'm just looking to read, learn, and apply. I appreciate the opportunity to be here and I look forward to receiving the wealth of knowledge from the members of this site.

I've been lurking around this site for about a month, observing and learning. I was a previous lurker at ar.com when I was interested in an Option 40. I soon realized that I would much rater be SF and found a good site to guide me on the right path.
I've learned a ton from GET SELECTED! by Maj. Martin and from all of the QP's on this site. Thanks for the time you spend in sharing your wisdom.

UPDATE: For many reasons, I signed a 11C National Guard contract this morning. Shipping to Benning 20070328. I am looking forward to using my time in the NG to prepare me for going Active next year and going to SFAS. Thanks again for the time that all the QP's, Soldiers, and other professionals on this board take to inform us who seek your wisdom!!

Another new guy...
Hello,
I'm Chris from Miami. No military service, so sorry for that. I'm just a hack who likes to get out and practice on paper and I've reloaded for about 12 years. Right now, I'm in a 'bolt gun' stage and shoot a year old Sako TRG-42 in 338 LM, a Rem Sendero in 7mm Rem Mag, a Savage 10 FP LE2B in 308 and a Savage 12 VLP in 22-250. I kind of enjoy the hobby of reloading almost as much as I do shooting and find it relaxing. I'm here to learn about longer range shooting, as Miami only has 2 100yd ranges at the present moment. I can drive up to Tampa to shoot 500 yds, but that is still pretty short.
Anyhow, thanks for at least letting me post and if you want me to take a hike, let me know.
Take care and thanks for the nice site.
Chris

Hey, name's Tom.
I enjoy having eggs in the morning with Frank's RedHot, dark roast coffee, black, sitting in the back yard with a Padron 6000, the woods around my hovel, attractive women, the occasional movie, the Drudge Report, reading books, and getting a good night’s sleep. I'm 18, still a baby.
Been lurking for quite a while now, great site. As most have mentioned, very informative. Great members and the trolls are kept at bay extremely well.

I guess you could say that. This is the only site I use 'Urocyon' for, so if you see it anywhere else it's not me.

Introduction
Good evening Gents,
First, I would like to say thank you to all of the contributing members of this site, particularly the Quite Professionals; you guys are a wealth of knowledge, and I feel truly grateful for the opportunity to lurk here.
A little about me; I did 5 years in the Marine Corps as Ground Radio Repair, left the Corps in 04, completed an A.A. degree, and am currently trying to break into the contracting world.
I've given a great deal of thought to going to the Army and getting myself to SFAS, but I realize that is not something you do until you have your ducks in a row and know without a doubt it's what you want, so right now I'm going to continue to pursue my current course, and soak up all the information I can from you fine gentlemen.
I thank you once again for the resource, and I hope I'll have something of value to add to the site, or at the very least, not step on my flap in the process.
Semper Fi,
Superpog(ue)

Introduction
Greetings - I was in 2/75 1976-1978 (Lt Abazaid was my first platoon leader), then I went through SFQC 1978, ended up on A-726, ETSed (sp?) in May, 1980. I was 11b2s and also went to SFUWQC in 1977. Thank you to all active duty and I am extremely proud of how well SF is doing since I got out.

Thanks you!
Thank you for allowing me to become a member! My name is Drew and I'm active duty Civil Affairs with the 95th Brigade. I stumbled across the site by luck and I wanted to enroll and become a member after I read several of the topics and discussions. I enjoy being around Professional Soldiers talking about what we do best! I look forward to getting great information from everyone and sharing my experiences and knowledge on deployments and multiple other topics

Late Introduction
I mistakenly posted in a forum without starting here. Apologies to the owners of the house.
I'm a 14J ADA TOC Operator that works for Army Space Command, 1st Space CO in Colorado Springs, CO. I've been interested in joining the SF community for two years now, and I've finally taken the steps to make it happen. I'm hoping to leave for SFAS around September of this year.
I've read many of the forums here, and found that the wit and advice in all the posts to be inspirational, educational and entertaining. It's been a valuable resource, and a constant reminder of why I'm here, and why I want to be a part of the community.
Thanks for everything guys, and thanks for having me here. With some guts and the grace of God, I'll be posting from the other side of the fence next year.
Rusty
