Fill out your profile before you draw fire and read the stickies. Since you've been lurking, you should already know the rules.

Attention to detail and situational awareness are very important in SF.

Hello,
My name is Jason and I have been lurking on this site for a while now. I have just begun my senior year in college and will graduate in the spring of 2008. I plan on enlisting after graduation with a 13f/opt 40 or 18x contract. I appreciate the service of every member of the armed forces on this site and I look forward to learning a bit more about the Quiet Professionals.

I've lurked on these boards for a while so I think it's time to introduce myself. As echoed in my profile, I'm a graduate student finishing a MA in Int'l Policy & Terrorism. Found the QPs because I've long been enamored by the SF community, and I'm interested in the variety of paths that lead there. As I get closer to the Rubicon I might inquire about personal experiences and recommendations, but for now I plan to read and learn. Thanks for a motivating resource and an inspiring community.

Hello,
Im a 17 ½ years old High school student from Finland currently undergoing my senior year. My current goal after im out of high school is to apply for paratrooper selection here and complete my conscription time there.
Ive been reading this forum for about 2½ months before registering and the quality of threads here is superb. Especially threads like "Training the mind" and the survival thread have been of great insight and help in my personal training.
Thank you for your time.

Greetings and Salutations
Hello everyone. I stumbled upon this site during my normal "rummage for knowledge" seaches on the world wide web. I thought I would join in order to appreciate all that is abound on this site.
A little about me. I'm in the Army and was stationed at Fort Stewart for about 3.5 years as a Ground Surviellence Operator. During my time there I had the chance to be deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Jan. of 2003 and Jan of 2005. Some of the missions I went on while over there gave me the chance to work with some teams from the SF side of the house. Ever since then I've been "bitten by the SF bug" so to speak.
Due to the UAVs taking over my original position on the battlefield, we've been forced to reclass. So now I'm at Huachuca going through 97B AIT. As soon as I finish training I'm dropping my paperwork to SFAS and will one day join the rest of you Quiet Professionals.
Thank you for letting me join this forum and I look forward to learning as much as I can.

Introduction
Greetings,
even though I have been a member for a few years already, I have been content with reading, constantly being amazed by the quantity and quality of information available on this site.
However, as courtesy demands, I decided to introduce myself. I am from Finland, and currently a student, with focus on arabic with islamic studies, minoring in IR and strategy. At the moment I am busy working on my Master's thesis, living in the Middle East.
This site and the posts have both challenged and inspired me, and I must say I have learned from reading them. Thank you for making a resource of this caliber available!

Introduction
ALCON,
I'm extremely pleased this site offers a avenue of information flow and internal bitches and gripes. I'm currently in (keeping OPSEC in mind) the old Blue Light for 5th. Even before taking the green pill, I've stent the majority of my deployment in the Middle East with a brief stay in the Balkens.
I'm looking forward to contributing to the underlining threads of strength that will benefit our regiment.

Welcome koz & desertskull
Blue Light? A few of them are bouncing around here.
The young pups don't know what that was.
Let me tell you, you are now placed in the "Vintage" group of SFers

Greetings
Hi,
My name is Carlos, I'm a former Army grunt, go out for like 10 years and wen back in 2005. I'm currently a MP with the MA Air National Guard. I'm here for find as much information as I can. I want to join SF, but don't know if I can do the 18X option, but I will try and talk to a recruiter to see what can be done. I was thinking of going SF in the National Guard (either MA or FL) but reading through here, I gather that most want to go Active, so that let me thinking if going Active is better. Right now i'm reading GET SELECTED for SPECIAL FORCES, by Major Joe Martin and MSG Rex Dodson. I say 90% of the questions has been answered, the few question that I have is the age limit ( I'll be 35 in 7 days) and wether I want to become an officer and then SF or just go SF and later become a Warrant Officer, but I hope to find those answers here. Thank you everyone for all the help and for defending our country.

Greetings all. First off, allow me to give my gratitude to all of you who are currently serving and to those who have previously given service. With that said, I will provide a basic intro about me. My name is Russell and I am extremely interested in military service, especially U.S. Army Special Forces. I have a varied background in athletics, academics, and construction, but I continue to aspire to develop my full potential as a patriot, leader, and teamate. I am not, however, a dilusional kid who wants to collect medals, badges, and bragging stories. I am 26 and planning to enlist on an 18x contract this Summer. I am aware of the difficulties and obstacles involved in becoming a member of an elite unit, which is why I am drawn to this site. I have many questions, but I am taking time to review the database available here before showing my ignorance and lack of preparation and research ability. I look forward to learning from you all and wish you all the best in the future.
God Bless.
Russell Brown
