Thanks

Thanks for setting up this great resource about SF.

My name is Matt, I'm a 22 y/o originally from Connecticut. I graduated ROTC and received my commission as a 2LT in Summer 2008. I'm presently going through MIOBC in Arizona.

When I'm out of class and training, I spend as much time as possible outdoors. I'm assigned to the 3 SBCT, 2 ID out of Fort Lewis, WA. I'm getting married this coming May.

Hello, I'm Kosta*, David to some, and I am a university student. I recently (last few months) made the decision to enlist 18X after I graduate in ~two years for various reasons, so until then I'm getting the best grades I can and training my body to be in the best possible shape for both the APFT and SFAS. I was going to just lurk anonymously, but it occurred to me that it's impolite to hang around someone's house without introducing oneself.

*Short for my middle name, which is Konstantinos. I go by it both because of what it means ("the guy who is constant/reliable/determined/loyal") and because it was the name of my grandfather, a man whom I greatly honor.

Hello,
My name is Chris and I have been in the ARMY for about 6.5 years. I am an active duty firefighter currently stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base. I taught Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen the essentials of military firefighting for about 1.5 years. I moved to the S3 shop in November and am now adding staff experience to my resume. Previously I have served at Fort Hood, at stations 1 and 5. I fought the biggest fire I will ever see at Camp Speicher, in Tikrit Iraq. I am married with 2 wonderful children. I have given the search button here a good workout. This site has a good wealth of information. I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and answering questions. I look forward to having discussions with anyone willing to share their time. The reason I joined this forum was to gather knowledge about the ARMY Special Forces. I plan on attending SFAS in May.

Good evening,
So far as this forum is concerned, I'm Karthas, a 19 year old sophomore at the University of Kansas, currently studying both film and premedicine (I see no reason to decide between the two as of yet). I enlisted last February so my last semester was spent in IET (Ft. Jackson then Ft. Sam Houston - I'm a 68W). I'm currently in the National Guard - 2/137INF with plans of going active after graduating from college. What was once a passing interest in the special operations community has become a very real interest in the Special Forces (fueled in part by a copy of 'Get Selected' floating around fire guard shifts in AIT and a strong desire to do more). I've been lurking on the forum for the past few weeks and have thus far managed to find the answer to every question I could wish to ask (the medical threads are particularly interesting), so I imagine that this may very well be my last post for some time.

And so, without further ado, Hello.

Hello

I'm a analyst by trade in the Air Force; currently have the added bonus that my office is also on the jet. I found this site while researching firearm information. For the most part I'm a lurker.

Great site, nice job gentlemen! I’m just a simple FA officer who was fortunate enough to spend a year running around Afghanistan with ODAs from 3rd SFG and 7th SFG. I can’t say enough about the good times we had and the things I learned from them. Thanks all!

Hello from Afghanistan fellow brothers in arm! Been surfing this site for some time now, and just recently registered for an account. Im a former 82nd (2000-2004). Got out and decided to persue an education. Almost finished my BA, then I got the itch and re-enlisted in the National Guard. What you know I got deployed, and now schools on hold for the time being. Glad to be here with you all.

My Introduction

Hello,
I am 30 years old, married with two kids, and I just rejoined the Army after being out for four years. I want to try out for Special Forces. I have a few questions, and I know that in this web site there are people who can definitely easily answer those questions.

Hi, I'm an 18 year-old high school senior who will matriculate at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Thank you QP's for providing this resource to us young guys.

You're welcome now go do 100 push-ups, 50 for "us" providing you a great resource and another 50 for making me look up the word, "matriculate".

And fifty more for the ill-advised use of the word "young". Haven't even gotten to the Tech School on the Hudson and you are already acting like a "Nob". Good Luck, Four years on the Hudson can be a looooong time. (Congrats, anyway)
