I'm glad we don't put our generals "up front" - what a fucking disaster THAT would be.
At least when they are critiquing the graphics on your 68-slide PowerPoint CONOP or second-guessing you over what they "think" they are seeing on pred' footage - they are doing it from the rear (where they can't hear you calling them names or making fun of their ridiculous tactical advice on SATCOM).
Let's see a show of hands - how many of you would want a legion of US and NATO flag officers riding in your convoy?
C'mon man - get those hands up high...
Clearly - we are doing one thing WAY better than the Russians and that is keeping the brass a safe distance from the actual war. It's how we help guarantee mission success while keeping our fine leaders safe.
Now you know why those dumbass 68-slide PowerPoint CONOPs were so important to mission success - it kept the chicanery at a distance.
Here is a little-known tidbit that some of you may or may not have ever noticed. A very very select few might even know what I mean when I say that someone used to get puzzles sent to them in care packages...
...and those puzzles used to be dropped off in the TOC in BAF as a joke.
If those Ruskies had been at the TOC trying to put together a puzzle instead of putting their nose into things - they'd still be alive.

I disagree,,
We have a history of leaders that lead.
I think we would have fewer problems if O6-n-UP all were out front.
The side effect(or affects) would be we get the benefit of non-repeating bad OERs

Debacle: Russia loses 4th general in combat, stalls at Odessa
Ed Morrissey Mar 16, 2022 12:01 PM ET
Ukraine has killed another Russian general in a further “serious blow to the morale” of the invading forces, a government adviser said Wednesday.
Maj. Gen. Oleg Mityaev died Tuesday during the storming of Ukraine’s most devastated city, Mariupol, according to Interior Ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko — who later posted a photo of the body.
Mityaev would be at least the fourth general killed during the invasion, which Kremlin officials are reportedly calling a complete “clusterf–k.’’
Mityaev, 46, commanded the 150th Motorized Rifle Division and had fought in Syria, Gerashchenko said, saying his body was found with “the shoulder straps of a major general.”
He was “one of the most promising and iconic Russian military leaders,” claimed Gerashchenko as he celebrated “the liquidation of the general.”

That's what happens when you destroy 3G towers in Ukraine in the hopes of information monopoly but forgetting that you need those for your Era cryptophone

Russian general killed after Ukrainian forces destroy command post in Kherson
By Eileen AJ Connelly
Another Russian general has been killed in Ukraine, the country’s military claimed Saturday, the fifth senior leader to fall since the invasion began 23 days ago.
Lieutenant-General Andrey Mordvichev, commander of the 8th army of the southern military district, was killed when armed forces destroyed a command post at an airfield in Kherson, a port city in southern Ukraine, officials said.

Well, that's one way to save on the General retirement check budget..."Off to the Front with you".....
Now they won't be able to become news commentators...

I'd hate to have a job in Vegas trying to set odds at the sports book for gambling on outcomes.
Obviously with so many world leaders having such a commanding grasp of 7 dimensional chess - it's just so hard to follow and understand why things are going the way they are.
John Kerry responds by asking Vlad to consider climate change as part of his strategy - Jobe Random whispering "world war three" into the microphone - Polish leaders trying to give away fighter jets - peace loving democrats praising Ukraine's fullyautomaticassaultweapon giveaway - Russian generals starting to drop like people with dirt on the clintons - and worst of all, the "Golden Arches Theory of Conflict Prevention" has been thrown straight into the shitter.
The question might be asked - just how "good" are these generals?
Are they George McClellan good?
Are they Robert E. Lee good?
Are they Ulysses Grant good?
What about William T. Sherman good - because that guy definitely understood the value of a total war scorched earth policy !!!
If we had to compare the death of these Russian generals with a similar impact on American forces, then we need some type of analogue before we can really make any predictions.
Getting rid of McClellan helped the north win the Civil War.
Keeping Robert E. Lee didn't change the outcome for the south.
Sherman literally set his own country on fire to show his resolve.
Getting rid of Patton probably kept us out of war with Russia in the late 40's
Getting rid of a few of our current members of the American admiralty would be a colossal defeat to our hard fought social justice campaign...
...probably wouldn't hurt our readiness any but that's not the point.
The real concern isn't that Russia lost some generals - the concern is what generals did they loose. If these guys were just shit knuckles like McClellan or some random SJW Militician that only serves to help spread the message - who knows - shit might get real when real Soldiers are brought in to replace them. If these guys were killers that simply got outmaneuvered by Ukrainians that fought better - well - replacing them right now might not be so easy. Not to mention - losing "good" generals might make Vlad a little irrational and more likely to escalate out of fear that their replacements aren't going to 'get it done' on the ground.
context matters
We aren't talking about feel good shit anymore - we are talking about REAL war with a nuclear capable nation - individual lives don't have the same value as the run of the mill "CNN Special Report" type of war we have become accustomed to over the last 30 years. This isn't the kind of conflict that's going to be won by activist politicians getting in front of cameras and talking about climate change, personal identity, and gender equality. Bashing your own military for conducting "night raids" ain't gonna get it done on an Eastern Europe battlefield. One side is going to have to out kill the other side before this is over - nobody likes to talk that way when your domestic policy is focused on trying to convince people that men can get pregnant or that AuquaMa'am is not suffering from a mental disorder.
I don't hate Russian people - they haven't done anything wrong beyond the sin of getting born in Russia - but a bunch of them need to hurry up and get killed in grisly fiery deaths before their leaders decide to send the rest of them back home to their baboushka. I don't love or hate Ukraine - but NATO and Ukraine need to capitulate so Vlad can get his way before the climate emergency gets any worse.
Of course, there is always the possibility that Vlad will give in to the spreading hashtag campaigns, realize that his war is accelerating climate change, and just go home. I doubt that will happen though - capitulation at this point signals total Russian military failure and Vlad has seen enough of that - his ego wont let that be his legacy.
Then again - Jobe Random could step in and save us all with a few well placed whispers and a strategically deployed "malarkey" - he did say he was going to unite us all - and we all know form the virtuous republicans that helped Jobe get into office - he's the guy we need right now.
