Startups Pitch Cricket Flour As The Best Protein You Could Eat

Startups Pitch Cricket Flour As The Best Protein You Could Eat

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/201...-you-could-eat

"If you heard crickets chirping in your backyard, would it occur to you to grind them into a powder to mix into a protein shake?

That could become the next foraging trend if several edible insect companies can convince consumers that pulverized crickets are the next "it" protein..."

OK, the first one to bake a loaf of bread let me know h0w it tastes.

If the crickets are listed 2nd in the ingredients, they could be less the 5% of the product..

Yeah crickets are listed 2nd in the ingredients, you are right about regular flour being the main ingredient.

Better stuff out there as far as flour and cooking flours that has higher protein. Most cost less too.
