Beach Volleyball: It's USA vs.

USA in the final. I'll go out on a limb and predict a couple of medals for TeamUSA.

Water polo now too. USA beats AUS in women's basketball, now to face France. Regular women's volleyball now USA v. Brazil.

So, yeah, you can "Just sayin'" all ya want ma'am.

I tend just to focus on the athletic performances (vs. the Costas-type stuff) when the bride & I actually watch TV. There's been some pretty awesome cases of reaching down inside to get something extra. Good stuff.

I apologize but I cannot remember the name of the US runner who completed his portion of a relay on a broken leg. Unreal.

This fellow?

He credited something more than simple adrenaline for pushing him the rest of the way around the track.

Olympics 2012: Medal Count Proves US Is Still Most Dominant Athletic Country

Olympics 2012: Medal Count Proves US Is Still Most Dominant Athletic Country

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...hletic-country

"The 2012 London Olympic Games have officially come to a close and, once again, the U.S. sits atop the medal count.

In Beijing they did the same thing, but the host nation China made it interesting. America topped the Chinese by 10 in the overall medal count, but China earned 15 more gold medals than America—China had 51 and the U.S. had 36.................."

But not this time - Way to go Team USA!

Oscar Pistorius angry at shock Paralympics 200m loss

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012...ius-angry-loss

"..............The twist in the story is that it is the very fact Pistorius wants to run in the Olympics and other able-bodied competitions that cost him here.

To do crossover like that, he can only run on blades that have been cleared for use by the IAAF, the sport's governing body. Longer blades, of the kind Oliveira used, are only legal in Paralympic events.

If Pistorius switched, he would not be able to run in non-disabled competitions. Besides which, he would undermine his own argument that his success is about the body above the knee, rather than the technology below it. In a sense, he is a victim of his own ambition. ...................."
