Introduction

My name in Ken, I was parachute rigger for the AF 88-92 stationed at Nellis AFB, NV. I worked with a great bunch of PJs and during those four years got to rub soldiers with quiet a few SOF fellows. I really miss those days!!! Recently I have had the wonderful luxury in participating in two of the last Robin Sage exerecises and I am hooked!! God Bless to all the operators out there!!!

Greetings, I'm a Marine currently with MARSOC looking to make the move to 18A. Here to read up and contact other Marines who either have or are in the process of transitioning from the Marines to SF to get their perspective and after action. Especially interested in officers who have or are in the process of making the transition.

Hello Gentlemen,
My name is John (seems to be allot of johns here) I'd be just one more. I found this site while tooling around on my new Toshiba, thinking I've got 15 billion channels of crap to look at but, there you were. Thanks, I feel better now.
I'm presently in my 29th year of service and my 23rd of active duty years, of which just about 20 belong to our beloved Regiment. I was up in the SWCS G-3, hating life and bidding my time when CSM Lugo said “Hey, you wanna go to Iraq?” This served both our agendas nicely and I thank him for that.
SO, I'm in beautiful, sunny Iraq working for USASOC but I pretty much sleep through the heat of the day and that’s OK by me. The fun around here is at night anyways. This will be the last soirée for this old broke fool but thank god I was able to spend it here among the boys, the best sons-of-biscuit eaters this side of hell and the closest thing to my heart since the first…& third wives. (are you in tears yet?)

Guess I’ll have to grow up someday but, not yet. Until then….cheers…..jd

My name is Tim, and I'm currently an E-4 in the USAR. I spent 9 months in Iraq in 2005/6 with the 220th TC as an 88M. I've been in uniform since I was 17 (22 now) and had grand plans to be an army aviator or, failing that, SF... unfortunately the army had other plans. I've had the honor of brief encounters with different members of the SF community a few times, and it's always something I enjoy. I've been trained by you guys a couple of times heading to the box and while I was there, and shared brief conversations whenever I could upon crossing ya'lls paths... I am always pleased to have got the chance.

I'm here because I didn't get to do everything I wanted to in the army, and life has changed for me now. So I like to learn, watch, listen and live vicariously through you guys. I guess you can say I'm an enthusiast of the tactical mindset.

I don't know if I personally ever had what it took to become one of you guys. I know statistically, probably not. But, to you QP's out there... I want to say I am honored to wear the same uniform as you guys. Each one of your lives is worth 100 of mine. Stay safe when going into harms way gentlemen... our world needs guys like you too much.

Take care all.

That's simply not true at all. We all have our place and responsibility, and all of them are needed to get the job done. Please re-examine your low self-worth a little more critically and understand your own valuable contributions.

Welcome Andrew.

My guidance to you is do some more reading on both SF and SEALS. While both are SOF units we are not essentially the same. Nonetheless, enjoy the site and be sure to utilize the search button...its amazing what info is often overlooked.

I find your ignorance offensive.

While you are at it, what would you like your new user name to be?
