Hello, I am a 31b currently deployed in suport of OIF. I joined the reserves in april 06. I currently serve as the gunner for a combat MP platform. I am looking at the special forces as the next step in developing myself as a professional soldier. I found this site after looking for information on the 19th group. I plan on using the resources found here to answer some questions I have about the process of switching from the reserves to the guard.
In the civilian world I am a distribution team leader for Miller Brewing Company and I was working on my MBA with an emphasis in global business before I volunteered to deploy. Thanks for your time.

Hello gentlemen,
I've been lurking here for awhile and finally registered this week, so I decided that it was about time for me to introduced myself. My name is Andrew and I'm a 19 year-old sophomore in college (accounting major). I think I share a feeling that a lot of my peers have expressed; I'm sensing that college may not be the right place for me at the moment. This isn't a matter of maturity, but more a question of where my interests and priorities lie. At the same time, I see college as something of a necessary evil (in my mind at least), and I'm currently deciding how/where I want to continue my education. I see the 18x program as a great opportunity for me, but I'm not 100% sure when I will follow through with that interest.
Wherever I end up in the near future, I want to thank you all for providing this site, its been an excellent resource so far!

My name is Jason and I am 19 years old. Joining the military has been on my mind for a long time, and I know if I don't join soon I will never get the chance. I WILL NOT miss an opportunity like the 18x program, and can't wait to get started!

Future 18x or 11x option 40
My name is Thomas McMaster. I am currently a sophmore[almost 16] at Arvada West High School in Arvada, Colorado. I have dreamed of being in the militarysince I was, like, 5. My grandfather was an Air Force pilot, and my cousin just got an honorable discharged from the USMC. I currently was told about the SF and Ranger contracts by a local recruiter, and plan on getting one of those. I have researced both, and if anyone could give me some "behind-the-scenes" info on one or the other [as to which i should join], I would greatly appreciate it. I am in all honors an AP classes, and am dedicated to improving my mind, body, and skills to Free the Oppressed and/or Rangers Lead the Way.

You are 15 years old. Get a girlfriend and keep your good grades up.
If you have free time, spend it at sports, working, or doing PT. You are long way from either enlistment option.
If you would look around, you might find some of the answers you are looking for, and that should be good enough for you.
As the rules state, we discourage people of your age from posting outside of an intro.
Best of luck.

Good evening gentlemen
I started my military career as a Team SGT. in a scout/sniper team with the
101st ABN Division and deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm. I ETSed in 1992 and became a Paramedic in the state of South Carolina and joined the South Carolina National Guard as a Medic. I deployed to OIF/OEF. I am now a SSG and teach the Combat Lifesaver Course for the National Guard. I have used a lot of the material from the 18D's on this website to enhance the program. I hope to learn a lot more at The Special Operations Medical Conference in Tampa this December. Thank you Gentlemen.

Introduction
I'm in college right now getting a bachelor's degree. I'm thinking about enlisting when I graduate with either an option40 or 18x contract. I'd like to be a medic and recently got my NREMT-B certification. I'm trying to find some work as an EMT for experience.
I'm here to just read and absorb information. Thanks.
