Talking Training

Ok a story from another War!

The 4th ID in RVN ran a road clearing operation from Kontum towards the border every morning.

One morning an NVA LT. was captured walking up the middle of the road with AK-47 andweb gear. Patrol stopped and watched as he continued walking towards them. LT. was captured without any problems. The only thing that worried the patrol was he kept saying the same thing over and over.

Patrol stopped at CCC the first US compound on the road. CCC got a VN to tell them what he was saying.

NVA LT was saying " don't shot at the little airplane". It didn't take a PHD to figure out if you shot at a FAC aircraft in a few minutes some bad stuff was going to hit you.

No amount of training would stop the troops. They were all trying for an award if you shot down any US aircraft.
