I carry at all times except when at work (Army base). I'll save that rant for another day....; but suffice to say that I am very careful and non-threatening due to that fact. I'm not "fearful," I am just ready to rapidly escalate that encounter into a situation wherein some people are going to be very unhappy with the outcome. Therefor, I mind my damned business, walk away, and stay in the "gray."

I don't do social media (except this site here); don't rant and rave in public; always watch my six. If the place looks sketchy, don't go there...period. Don't forget your training now that you are in CONUS, or a civilian....there are environments in some of our inner-cities that are as bad for a white boy as Fallujah was in '04.
