TCI T.T.M.K. Throat Mic Kit

We just received "TCI T.T.M.K. Throat Mic Kits" for the entire detachment. Based on the number of total kits bought, I believe at least eight teams will be using them. From the looks of them, they look good for reconnaissance and for long range mobility (vehicle) operations. I don't see them in wide use in and around a structure during AMOUT (need for ear protection, and the need to cancel-out loud ambient noise). Anyone out there have more experience with these items. What are your comments? Any pitfalls to this piece of equipment? Reccommendations for parts to keep in stock, etc. Thanks. "De Oppresso Liber"
