6.5 and 6.8 are a step in the right direction for the pro,
but i'm still scracthing the o'le scalp as to why they didn't jump back to 7.62
seen a lot of good result's with 6.8
blitzzz, now that is a real wild cat, WILD CAT! you could do it, hummmm.
just for SAG i'm going to look that combo up,
with new powder's these days you can do just about anything with any combo
7mm like them for ONOK (one shot one kill) but they tear hell out of small game, check into 300 weatherby mag, and 7.62,,,,,both can be real fun,do anything rounds, from squirting till the jacket shear's ,clear down to sling shot speed.
like where your heads at though
Ackley, wild cat ed, some thing like it back in early 70's
a 300 Win Mag necked down to ...........17 it was a test set up for some magizine project (think it was gun's and ammo) he ended up only firing a few rounds, he called it "alouden earsplitzen" (it was a joke name, but in his own word's "I'm not man enough to shoot more than a couple a day")
