Do good things come to those who wait?

I decided to enlist after I graduated college with the goal of making it to SF as an officer after I’ve done a few years as an enlisted soldier. I was fortunate enough to attend language school and become a 97e. I’ve completed two years so far on active duty and have returned home since. My sincere goal was to learn as much as I could from every experience so that I would in the end become the best officer I could. However, I fear that my goal may be eluding me as I continue to wait. I am slotted to start OCS but also have the opportunity to attend a Pre-SFAS ran by a local SF company. My question would be is it worth waiting for the OCS program to conclude or go for it now? Ultimately I know the decision is my own and several conditions must be met, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or could offer personal experiences. Thank you in advance, to call this site a wealth of knowledge is an understatement.
