FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, Nov. 13, 2007) — An Army Special Forces Soldier died Nov. 10 of an existing heart condition.
Sgt. Maj. Craig A. Griffin, 46, was a Green Beret Sgt Maj. assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Fort Lewis, Wash.
He joined the Army in May of 1980. After a short break in service he reenlisted in the Army and became a Green Beret Medic. He served for over 20 years in Special Operations and served in four of the five active duty Special Forces Groups.
Griffin is survived by his wife, Holly, of Olympia, Wash.; daughters, Brittany, of Lacey, Wash., and, Jena, of Cortland, N.Y.; son, Liam, of Olympia, Wash.; and parents Earl and Ruth of Reno, Nev.
