Paintball casualty

Just had a call from my son who is back on his R&R from Iraq. Two tours (almost) in Sadr City, a couple IED's, multiple RPG's, numerous small arms close calls, and a dud 120mm mortar round landing next to him doesn't phase him.

So he goes out paintballing with some of his buddies back in Lexington, KY; wearing a pair of low-top climbing shoes instead of boots and steps in a hole in the ground. End result: Grade 3 sprain of his left ankle, possible torn ligament that wraps around the ankle.

Prognosis: If the swelling doesn't go down in a couple weeks, they may have to operate. Since he's close to the end of his extended tour, his main fear is that they'll keep him at Bragg while he heals, leaving his unit short one NCO.

Looks like Common Sense passed away a little too soon...

God whispers in your soul and speaks to your mind.
Sometimes when you don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at you.
It's your choice: Listen to the whisper, or wait for the brick.
