Hi everyone, first post here. My name is Matthew, and I've been lurking here for the last few months, doing a lot of reading.
I've always had a keen interest in U.S. Army Special Forces, especially in how a self contained team of men can go into an area and do so much for the population there, helping people out (or helping people OUT). I am really honored to be able to associate and learn from you here on the forum. Thank you to the owners & admins of the board for letting civilians like me participate here.
As for me, due to asthma I've been unable to serve, though I am investigating the process to apply for a waiver. I work for a major ISP, love spending time outdoors (backpacking, kayaking, caving) and enjoy shooting, history, and cooking. I consider myself to be conservative, have several friends & relatives who served/are serving in the armed forces, and John Wayne is a personal hero of mine.
Hopefully that's not TMI. Now, back to reading.
