That could be a true story in whatever AO that GO held sway, but in 66 we had a couple of H-model Hueys mounted with .50's. They were utilized for airfield security as flare ships, and they also ran the canals at night looking for Sampans, a large searchlight lit up the Sampans very well, as did the .50's!.
