New American Heart Association Guidelines

The new American Heart Association Guidelines were just released in December. I have been hearing about them, but I finally got around to taking a look at them for myself. Big changes are:

1. One person CPR they are recommending 30:1 compression to ventilation ratio
2. Two person CPR 15:1 compression to ventilation ratio
3. No stacked shocks. They recommend 2 minutes of compressions between shocks in order for the ATP within heart cells to be regenerated before the next shock.

There is much more than that but those were the a few of the highlights. If anyone wants to read more here are some links with the primary papers.
