That reporter was full of garbage. Our mortar men have no problem hitting their targets. I remember two weeks ago our mortar team put a 120 round right on a lone taliban fighter's head. It was reported by the FO that the guy was there one second, and a crater centered on where he was sitting was there the next. The running joke is "I bet that's the last time he'll stand in the open."
