Base Re-renaming?

Did all y'all see that there executive order restoring the name of Mount McKinley? Anyone hear anything about restoring names of bases like Benning and Bragg?

If he can rename the Gulf of Mexico why not? Spent time at both. They'll always be Benny and Bragg to me.

I wish. I think the Confederate stigma is too powerful…. pretty much synonymous with Nazis. 😢

That's a pretty harsh comparison, not one that I would draw. I have ancestors buried in the South and at Antietam and I have a great deal of respect for Confederate soldiers. I have absolutely no respect for the Nazis. The renaming of those bases and the destruction of Confederate memorials was no more than knee jerk pandering by guilt ridden idiots. YMMV

Let me clarify… proud Southerner here . My point is that point of view is held by many who wanted the name changes and confederate statues removed.

Non Southerner here and I disagree, 99% of people did not know or care about the base names of those their are a tiny minority who are activist scum who are Contras just because their is a small minority who understands the history and naming the rest are fence sitters/reactionaries who just go along to get along. The real issue is the politicization of racial subjects the Democrats choose to use to divide us We don't know for sure what they will do now since it seems their radical narratives have run out of steam for now
