YouTube Bans Firearms Demo Videos, Entering the Gun Control Debate
By Polly Mosendz and Mark Bergen
March‎ ‎21‎, ‎2018‎ ‎10‎:‎20‎ ‎AM‎ ‎MST Updated on ‎March‎ ‎21‎, ‎2018‎ ‎1‎:‎39‎ ‎PM‎ ‎MST

Google’s new policy prohibits promotion of guns, bump stocks
At least one video gun blogger ditched YouTube for PornHub
YouTube, a popular media site for firearms enthusiasts, this week quietly introduced tighter restrictions on videos involving weapons, becoming the latest battleground in the U.S. gun-control debate.

YouTube will ban videos that promote or link to websites selling firearms and accessories, including bump stocks, which allow a semi-automatic rifle to fire faster. Additionally, YouTube said it will prohibit videos with instructions on how to assemble firearms. The video site, owned by Alphabet Inc.’s Google, has faced intense criticism for hosting videos about guns, bombs and other deadly weapons.

For many gun-rights supporters, YouTube has been a haven. A current search on the site for “how to build a gun” yields 25 million results, though that includes items such as toys. At least one producer of gun videos saw its page suspended on Tuesday. Another channel opted to move its videos to an adult-content site, saying that will offer more freedom than YouTube.

“We routinely make updates and adjustments to our enforcement guidelines across all of our policies,” a YouTube spokeswoman said in a statement. “While we’ve long prohibited the sale of firearms, we recently notified creators of updates we will be making around content promoting the sale or manufacture of firearms and their accessories.”

As much as I may disagree that Christian Bakers (*) have to make a gay wedding cake because of the 1A, I vehemently disagree that a publicly traded company such as G****** or Y**T*** can suspend or discontinue the legal and ethical distribution of both 1A and 2A rights guaranteed to all US Citizens.

This seems to be a violation of the 1A for those who have subscribed to and use the trademark of “*******” as an advertising format.

Have fun in the courts, they are leaning right in all but a few places.

(* any private business should have the right to refuse service for any reason they post in public view. Just as if you post a sign that says ‘no guns allowed’ fine I’ll take my business, my money and my safety next door.)

Won't show gun videos but will show troops getting killed by terrorist videos? Fuck 'em.

Another business that has moved into the no-longer-supported category is "Field and Stream"...

So while folks are steering clear of fakebook and Triggered Tube, think about finding new sporting good stores as well.

Went into the 'Field and Stream' near Ft Bragg looking for some pistol magazines...
-anything over 10rds was gone
-the entire aisle that used to hold AR15 parts and tools was stripped and replaced with about 8 feet of shelf space dedicated to PINK pepper spray canisters.
-all of their semi-auto tactical rifles had been pulled from the wall and replaced with very similar LOOKING models that were all bolt guns
-next to the register is a sheet of paper that says you must be 21 or older to buy guns/ammo

So..... Field and Stream has joined Dicks - and now no longer trusts paratroopers to be responsible with guns or ammo.

I drove down the street and paid just a little bit more to their competitors at Academy for the things I needed.

I hope Academy doesn't buckle and give in to the lies and the hype.
...its a shame too - I would have walked out with some arrows and a tree stand that was on sale if I hadnt seen the changes made at the gun counter.

The list keeps getting longer

It was only a matter of time...since Dick's owns Field and Stream. I try to do all of my shopping at BPS. It takes longer to drive there. But at least they're on the same side.
