Yup - pretty good remarks. (Body language of former protectees (plural) sitting in the vicinity & on camera was interesting, especially the former-thank-God FLOTUS.) IMO, he hit the bricks with what needed saying and, you're right, it was said knowing that such words carry way beyond our shores.

Pundit analysis commences. One very significant shift:

Trump mentioned himself just three times in two sentences, while referring to “we” the American people 45 times

Daily Caller

and the three times he used reference to himself (The infamous "I")

“The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.”

“I will fight for you with every breath in my body"

"I will never, ever let you down,”


Yeah, that's a change too.

Pelosi apparently said something to President Trump about passing along the pens he was using to sign.
He should have handed her one and said, "Here Nancy, you can have this pen I used to sign the Executive Order eliminating federal funding to your district."
